Horrible horrible pill. I have been on it for 2 years. It gives me weird bumps on my chin that don't go away unless I pick at them and scab over into horrible pus scabs. I am not me, I yell at stupid things, cry for no reason and have suicidal thoughts. My emotions are like I am on my period times 10. I literally can't stop crying or being angry at everyone. This pill has completely changed who I ...

I gained 15+ lbs with all the other birth control pills, and those pills induced in me an INSATIABLE appetite. I wouldn't be satisfied no matter how much I ate. But with this pill, I notice my hunger is much better controlled and I don't feel hungry, thus I've lost like 3 lbs, which is a big deal for me because I weigh 125. Also, it has reduced my bloating!!!! Period comes perfectly on time now.

I became SUPER emotional on this - I felt like I was complaining about everything and crying over minor things. I also got EXTREME bloating during my periods although no pain (I'm talking at least 5 lbs heavier).

I have noticed that ever since I have startd taking it I've became really emotional over little stuff and have been getting weird mood swings. Sometimes after I take it my stomach feels a little weird but that's probably because I am only 18 days in.

This pill made me lose 15 pounds. Along with feelings of depression and anger! I feel better after 2 days without it.

Been taking it for 1 month now & no complaints. My first period on the pill was super light. My skin has cleared up a little (wasn't super bad to begin with). Haven't noticed any mood swings. My sex drive was low even off the pill & haven't noticed any difference on the pill. I have been losing weight over the past 6 months or so & continue to lose at a moderate rate even while taking this pill, just keep up calorie tracking. Overall so far I'm pleased with this pill.

I have been taking this BC for about 2 months and I have noticed the mood swings, severe headaches. I went a couple days without them and that was a big mistake. It totally threw my cycle outta whack. I've had 2 periods in one month. I don't really like this one but my Dr swore by it.

I have taken many different brands of birth control for regulating my acne, however this medication is by far the WORST i have ever taken. It has caused great mood swings with me after the second month. During the first few weeks of my second month I had been feeling greatly down and sad. Then as the days went by my feelings of sadness started to get even worse to the point that I was constantly feeling like I was on the edge of crying. Then my feelings got so out of control that I started feeling that people hated me and I was worthless so I would start crying for no reason next to people, feeling as if they were hating me. I cried for hours at time, and multiple times a day. DO NOT TAKE THIS BIRTH CONTROL. It caused my grades to go down because I did not feel like doing anything. It has ruined my life. Well it does it's job as a birth control but that's about all it does. I've been taking this for 7 months and they've been miserable. I've gained almost 10 pounds, my breasts are so tender, especially around my nipples, my periods are incredibly heavy, and I've completely lost my sex drive. I'm seeing a doctor soon and I'm definitely switching to anything else.

I have been on Azurette for over 3 weeks now. I am a person who has always had the side effect of vomits while being on the pill. My body never gets to adjust. always bc pills make me throw up on the first days of the months and it ceases but never stop. I thought i was one of the women that just can't take BC. My gynecologist switched me to Azurete because i had too many side effects with Tri-previfem. from vomits, to moods swings to hair loss which that one was the big NO-NO for me. I am still amazed because from all BC i have tried, this is the only one that doesn't upset my stomach. i take it with a stomach protector and a meal at night. i did the same with other pills but i always ended up throwing up in the mornings. I am finally recovering from what tri-previfen did to me. i am not depressed or hysteric and my sex drive is raising again after loosing it completely. So far i could say that I finally found the right pill for me. Now i am waiting and hoping Azurette gets to balance my hormones so my hair stops falling. Read More Read Less

I have been taking Azurette for 3 weeks after not being on birth control for a little over a year, due to hormonal interactions with my thyroid medication. Previously, I was on Ortho Tricyclen Lo, which worked as a birth control medication but made me really moody once I started Thyroid treatment. So far on Azurette has given me terrible acne on my upper back, night sweats, and fits of crying for no reason. I've found myself crying and upset numerous times around my boyfriend when nothing is actually wrong. I have never had acne on my back before this, and I'm 25 years old. It makes me feel "unsexy" to have acne on my back, especially during intimate moments with my boyfriend. Initially, I was very nauseous to the point of almost vomiting and missed my first period on the pill. Now I have indigestion frequently. I have noticed that my breasts, especially my nipples, are very tended and hurt just from my Tshirt touching them. I am also very tired all of the time. I have not decided what I will do, if I will switch or not, but I am not very happy with the current conditions it has presented.Read More Read Less

I started taking this bc about 3 months ago recommended by my reproductive endocrinologist. I tried the nuva ring as a teenager but I hated it. Anyway, 10 years later (I'm 24 now) here I am. The first week of pills I break out, but not badly, just like one or two pimples around my chin. I have difficulty remembering to take it... I take mine at night now with dinner, the first time I tried it I was VERY nauseous so I recommend taking it on a full stomach, with a glass of milk, or with a meal - no problems. I have noticed about halfway through the month I have a PMS transition where I'm more sensitive than usual, but not depressed or crazy. I have not experienced extreme mood swings or any abdominal/chest pain or cramping as some have mentioned. Overall, I would recommend this bc, I feel well balanced and do not have any complaints.Read More Read Less

I started taking lo loestrin as I got it as a sample, when I realized it was $90 a month, my gyno said let's switch you to azurette it's generic and cheaper. After having no side effects except acne from lo loestrin, this was a slap in the face. I am almost done with my second pack of azurette and my breasts are so tender, I have horrible mood swings, will lay in bed and cry all day with no motivation- I cannot go to work because I can't stop crying! I have gained 8lbs since starting 7 weeks ago and I now have acne which I haven't had since I was 18 (I'm 22 now) so to get acne again is horrible. It's covering my neck, chest and back from top to bottom and is sooo painful!! I also got a light period when I was supposed to and had the worst cramps- I have never had bad cramps before this!! Even if it is a fraction of the price, I'm not wasting any more money on this awful pill. I was going to ride out the 3 month supply that for some reason they have me all at once for $125, but I really don't think it's worth it. Will probably go back to lo loestrin or something else. I originally was prescribed this medication to control skin acne and thus birth control would be more of a nice side perk to it, however, I saw no effect on my skin and about a week or two after using it I got strong CHEST PAINS. I have no history of blood clots or any issues with my circulatory system and neither does anyone in my family. You should know that blood clots are not to be underestimated. Mine fortunately was mild but it did last for a good 20-30 minutes.. anything longer is considered serious and you could end up in the hospital. Some women have died from chest pains because of birth control although this is not as common. Azurette birth control pills contain a hormone called "desogestrel" which has been proven in MANY research experiments to raise the risk of blood clots by 7.3 times. Im a athlete and anything that goes in my body is extremely critical to my physical performance so I did some research. If you can, avoid at any cost taking this prescription and go for something containing the hormone "levonorgestrel" instead and also with a LOW dosage of estrogen, for it is much healthier and its your own health you're playing with. Like I said, I'm a competitive athlete with no history of any circulatory system issues/failures but I had a really frightening experience. I was fortunate enough to have suffered a mild side effect from taking this medicine but that won't always be your case.Read More Read Less

I LOVE Azurette! I have been taking it for about four years. I know most people review meds to talk about how bad they are, but I honestly have not had any trouble taking this. The only bad part is, lately, it has been really hard to find. So, every month, I have to call all over town, and someone usually has to order it. My mother in law is a pharmacist though, and she just located a box of it, so I'll be good to go for 6 more months! I have tried taking Kariva, which is supposed to be almost identical to Azurette, but my body did not like it at all. It made me so emotional, and I started breaking out on my arms, which sucked! But as soon as I switched back to Azurette, I went back to normal. Everyone's body is different though, and you just have to find what works for you. Lord knows I have tried some awful birth control pills, but Azurette has been great!Read More Read Less

I started taking this birth control maybe two or three months ago. It didn't initially have any effect, but then I started noticing being really angry and emotional the second week of the pill cycle. I also COMPLETELY lost my sex drive; I have no feeling or desire to the point where I'm actively not wanting to have sex. This stresses my partner and I out and I'm sure is only exacerbating things. Very unpleasant.

I was nervous about starting birth control after hearing stories of crazy mood swings and weight gain, but I didn't experience any of that! I actually lost weight when I started this pill and have been on it successfully for 5 years.

I have taken about 4 different birth control pills in the past, this one is by far the worst pill ever. I started taking it because I naturally have migraines and this is supposed to help prevent them...it doesnt I have had this migraine for 8 days (much like I did before). That is not even the worst part, I have been so angry. I honestly feel like saying I am going crazy is an understatment. I will go from laughing to crying to screaming and violent within a minute. This is not me, I have been violently angry at the flip of a switch and I would say that I cry atleast 5 times a day, many times into my pillow because I cant control my mood swings and I am irrational. I am only supposed to take the inactive pills every third pack to reduce my cycles due to endometriosis, but am still bleeding. I am aware that it takes time to adjust to a bc, but this has been miserable for myself, my fiance and my daughter. I am going in tomorrow morning to get off of this crazy pill. I would recommend asking someone you trust to monitor your emotions on this, because I thought everyone else around me was just being mean and doing annoying things to anger me, so obviously I couldnt determine that it was just me all along until I read these ( well and started hating myself for not being able to control my behaviors...)Read More Read Less
