Horrible horrible pill. I have been on it for 2 years. It gives me weird bumps on my chin that don't go away unless I pick at them and scab over into horrible pus scabs. I am not me, I yell at stupid things, cry for no reason and have suicidal thoughts. My emotions are like I am on my period times 10. I literally can't stop crying or being angry at everyone. This pill has completely changed who I ...

I have been on azurette for approx. 5 months. While this birth control works, I am very displeased with the side effects. I have severe mood swings that I can't control. The occasional headaches are horrible. Tonight I took 4 asprins and 4 ibuprophen, but the headache would not disappear. I was contemplating on going to the ER because of the pain. My awesome hubby watched our 5yr old twins while I was able to rest. Finally after 3 hours of rest/tortuous pain I finally feel better. I refuse to take azzurette any longer. I am going back to OB tomorrow for a change. Read More Read Less

I was prescribed this to reduce the size of my cyst (7cm), and it was gone in about two months. However, I have experienced extreme moodiness, acne, and weight gain. I'm going to consult my doctor on an alternative.

Aside from birth control, I was also prescribed this pill to help with the hell of my monthly period. It has helped the "flow" but the side effects are horrendous. My PMS'ing the week before has gotten worse. I still get the slight headaches but now, I've added mood swings, depression, nausea and an upset stomach. It was so bad that I had to go home from work sick. I just started my 3rd pack of pills on Sunday but am trying to get an appointment with my doctor so I can change this prescription.Read More Read Less

I began taking this because my previous pill was no longer being manufactured. I have gained a great deal of weight, had extreme fatigue, bloating and cramps. It made me feel awful! I was happy to read these reviews to find I am not losing my mind! This was not a pleasant experience and I stopped taking it for good!

How weird that I am reading all of this and I just told my boyfriend that I have not been feeling like myself. I have experienced increased anxiety, moodiness, cryning spells, increased acne. This was my second month taking Azurette and I will not be continuing to the 3rd. I am so glad I addressed this issue... bc it has caused tension in my relationship. thanks for your input ladies!

This has to be the worst birth control I have been on to date. I was put on this after the birth of my daughter 8 months ago because I was trying to breast-feed. Once I was given the all-clear to have intercourse, I had been on it for over a month (I had a c-section), and the pain was so intense. It didn't improve even as the months went by. I was depressed, moody, angry, snappy, and had ZERO (seriously...no amount of stimulation could make me remotely interested) sex drive. And the pain was still so bad that I cried...every time (which wasn't alot because my husband didn't like hurting me). I even went to a specialist OBGYN who specialized in painful intercourse. He diagnosed me with vulvular vestibulitis and prescribed me several different meds to help with the pain. They did NOTHING (big surprise since they were for depression, seizures, etc.), and I quit wasting my time and money (3 hour drive one way) after several appts. It finally dawned on me that at the least the lack of desire could be attributed to this pill. I stayed on it until I finished the pack, which was about 2 weeks ago. I had a period, and as soon as I was done, my sex drive was back and the pain has dissappeared!! I also feel happier and not quite so angry! You couldn't pay me money to be back on this pill! It had such a negative effect on me, my husband, and our relationship! If you have other options, take them...don't take this pill!!Read More Read Less

Cannot believe so many women are suffering as a result of insurance companies try to save a few bucks! This is the second time in two years that my insurance company has substituted Azurette for Mircette. Low n behold upon starting Azurette again my migraines have returned, my hair is falling out, I am nauseous, tired, cranky and the last thing I feel like doing is having sex with my poor husband. I have taken Mircette for years with only positive side effects: drastic decrease in migraines, clear skin, no cramps, hardly a period, birth control, and peace of mind! I'd say the reason Azurette is so effective for preventing pregnancy is because we feel too tired and crappy to even think about sex. Thank you for the posts. It confirms that this prescription is composed of chemicals unsuited for ingestion. I am appalled and can't wait for my doctor appointment to try getting back to Mircette and normal.Read More Read Less

Been on this pill for 6 months. Mood swings, which my friends kept asking me about. My poor BF! That is all I can say about that! I had a yeast infection develop every other month routinely. I have gained crazy weight. I am glad I read into this. My doc told me to just eat more yogurt to control the infections, but really didn't help at all! Came back the next time like clockwork! I am just going to quit now. I now realize I wasn't really crazy, it was the pill!

I have been taking this pill for a little over 7 years now. I HATE it i recently jus got off the pill due to mytowns pharmacy closing. And i still have YET to start my period and here we are almost 1 month later i know im not pregnant because i am not sexually active. Havent been for a very long time. Others are RIGHT tho. thiis pill gave me Mood swings, terrible headaches, backpain, and even made my menstrual cramps a little worse. Although it did regulate my period out so it was the same time every month was cool Overall it was very effective for me but i also wasnt have sex all the time. I DISLIKE VERY MUCH that i havent started my period after stopping the pill. I hate it :( Read More Read Less

This is only my first week and I already noticed peculiar effects. I'm more prone to headaches, body tension, emotional sensitivity, and although my appetite increased, I lost some senses of hunger. Besides all of that, I'm alright. It's not irritating enough to interfere with my day-to-day routines but it does make me reconsider birth control pills, I want to feel more balanced physically.

I've been on this BC for 3 weeks now and have noticed a number of changes in myself. I am much more tired than usual and my sex drive had greatly decreased. I do find that I'm moodier, but on the whole it's actually swung me into a perkier person (not natural, but nice) aside from a surprising tantrum/meltdown my first week. My boobs also feel much fuller than before.

This is the WORST BIRTH CONTROL I HAVE EVER TAKEN. I have had my period for 8 days now, while I normally have it for 4 days. I stopped taking this pill 7 days ago. The only reason I found it to be effective was because I have not even had sex while using it. Not only has it made me bleed more than normal, but it has also caused me to have mood swings, irritability, anxiety, and I would even say depression. It made me cry almost every day that I was on it, and usually it would be for no reason. Every body is different, but I found much better results with Ocella (which is what I'm switching back to). The only reason I was ever on this horrid pill was because my university's pharmacy stopped carrying my old one. They are now special ordering it for me. I would not recommend this pill to anyone, but again, everyone's body is different.Read More Read Less

So I just switched to this pill- even after reading these reviews I thought I'd give it a try. No idea why I did that now. I have been a consumer of birth control for almost nine years now, so I trust my judgement on how bc is supposed to make you feel. I have never felt this sick before just from a pill, and it was like it was almost instantly after taking the first one! I wanted to switch because I was on the same tri-cyclen one for a long time and thought maybe I needed a mono-cyclen to adjust my hormones. Well, this has not worked for me, regardless of being an optimist. Back to tri-cyclen I go...Read More Read Less

I took this drug for a year and now after reading these, the way I have been feeling made sense. I have not felt like myself for awhile but never tied it to the drug. I have had lots of spoting while on this drug, my periods are all messed up. Also, it has greatly reduced my desire for sex. I have also gained weight. I hope when i finish this pack and start a new pill this will change.

I have been taking this for 2 months now and I have not been able to figure out why I am still having bad headaches. I have very moody and can't stop stressing about things. After reading some of these comments I made an appointment to see my doctor and get this changed. I would not suggest taking this ever!!

I was on Azurette for 2 months- had to have my 3rd month switch to Target at the last minute because of forgetting to pick it up at the pharmacy I normally go to and I couldn't make it back before they closed. I could feel an immediate difference in my mood with Kariva! It was like a weight lifted. I was such a mean horrible person who would be crying or angry at any minor issue. I hated everything for two months straight. I'm going to stick with Kariva- and if Walgreens can't fill it, I'll just keep my rx at Target!Read More Read Less

I have never been an unhappy person, other than the usual ups and downs. When I started taking this pill my whole life changed. Crying allll the time, mad, upset, angry, super paranoid. I didn't understand because i'd used 3 other kinds of birthcontrol before it with no side effects, when I finally put it together the pill was making me crazy and I read reviews on here, it all made sense. Don't even try this pill, its put 4 months of my life in a dark place =(
