Horrible horrible pill. I have been on it for 2 years. It gives me weird bumps on my chin that don't go away unless I pick at them and scab over into horrible pus scabs. I am not me, I yell at stupid things, cry for no reason and have suicidal thoughts. My emotions are like I am on my period times 10. I literally can't stop crying or being angry at everyone. This pill has completely changed who I ...

After reading these reviews I feel so relieved. Ever since I've started on this pill I've had the worst mood swings coupled with depression. I've never felt so down in my life before I began this pill. The mood swings were so bad I thought I had bipolar disorder. I originally took this pill to relieve cramps that left me bed-ridden two days every month. While it successfully dulled my cramps and regulated my periods, the side effects are the absolute worst. I'm stopping it today.

I had been taking ortho tricyclen lo for about 5 years. I wanted something cheaper so my doctor put my on Azurette. The first month on the pill was flawless, I had spotting in the second month, by the third month, I thought I was slowly dying. I was constantly getting light headed and nauseas, especially around the time I took my pill. I even tried taking it with food, but it didn't help. The week of my period became a nightmare with cramps worse than before I was put on birth control. I also would become extremely bloated at the most random times, especially after eating. (though I'm not 100% if bloating was because of my diet, but I've been eating the same since before the pill) I've finally said enough is enough after about 5-6 months. My doctor said that some women cannot take generic pills after being on brand names for so long. I'm about to try another generic and if that doesn't help, I'll probably go back to footing the bill for ortho tricyclen lo. I highly recommend ortho for anyone unsure of what pill to take.Read More Read Less

Within the first week of taking this birth control, I started getting cluster headaches in the middle of the night that made me nauseous and temporarily blind in my right eye. I've never had those in my life until I started Azurette. Also comes with major mood swings and uncontrollable bouts of crying. I had to stop taking it immediately. I am now off the birth control and all of my symptoms have disappeared. I highly recommend no one take this pill. There are way better ones out there.

I honestly have not had any side effects with this birth control. I've been on it now for over six months and my sex drive did not go down at all and I didn't get crazy mood swings either and my period is light and only for three days.

This is the worst medicine out there. This is the start of my third week. Sick from day one, cramping so bad I was crying(I have two children didn't cry during labor) moody, back pain, bleeding for three days now worse than normal. I'm so angry impatient and have no sex drive and headache since day one. It works because all you want to do is die. I would rather be perngant once more then get my tubes tied. Night sweats yeah I'm done with this pill.

I haven't had any problems taking this at all. I was on Kariva the other generic, but then I switched pharmacies, and they had this one Azurette. I have been on Azurette for about 5 or 6 months. Kariva I was on for about 7 years or so. But didnt have any problems with either. My periods are always light maybe 3-4 days long. Havent really gained any weight either. I have some cramping before my period starts but thats it. But everybody is different. And I havent had any mood swings or anything like that or crying spells. This medicine works ok for me.Read More Read Less

Decreased sex drive, vaginal dryness, irritation with urination, HEAVY periods, and terrible cramps. This pill was awful, and it took me a year to realize it's not me it't the PILL. Taken 12 full months of this pill and won't be taken a single one again.

My first BC. I like it. No read side effects other than my period lasting 7 days long, heavy and some bad cramps. I have been taking it for almost 3 months and have had a little weight gain. Not much though.

Great stuff for helping with menopausal symptoms. Very happy with it! No weight gain, no depression, no fatigue.

I took this pill because I was tired of how long and heavy my regular period was but this pill made my bleed for the whole entire freakin month. There's no point in even having a pill labeled with P because it makes no difference besides lots of clotting in my period. Also I get worse cramping and I get depressed on this pill and I'm usually a happy person. I DO NOT RECOMEND.

I am so happy to be reading these reviews because I finally feel normal again. I never leave reviews on any sites but I really felt motivated to respond because of what i've been going through with Azurette. I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for about 10 years with no bad side effects at all. In fact, i LOVE OTC Lo. Then I decided to try a different pill cause OTC Lo can be pretty expensive ($60 - $70/pack). My doctor recommended Azurette and it was $20 so I didn't think anything of it and decided to switch. Almost immediately my desire for sex changed and then I lost all lubrication, which was extremely unusual for me. Sex became so painful I would cry after sex. This never happened on OTC Lo and I will go back on it despite the $ because Azurette is the WORST bc pill!!!Read More Read Less

Thank God I found these reviews.I cried I was so happy I found that MANY women were going through the same thing as me. I have been on this pill for almost a whole pack, but haven't finished it yet. It took me that long to figure out why I was crying all day every day, filled with rage at any moment. I've had depression before and I thought it came back until I read these reviews. If there is any women out there taking this feeling the same as me, stop taking this pill! It was so bad my psychiatrist diagnosed me with bipolar mania, now I know it all started 3 days after taking this pill. I have been at the lowest in my life since I started taking this pill. The mood swings were severe enough to interfere with my daily life, including my work life. I had my son 6 months ago, so I should've been happy, he was a very happy healthy baby, sleeps all day and all night. Sometimes I would look at him and just cry because I kept telling myself that I should be happy because he is so beautiful and happy. I feel SOOO much better that I am not crazy, I am not bipolar or depressed, it was just these stupid pills. I've obviously stopped taking them and I am myself again. My happy self! I would not recommend this to anyone because the severity of this one side effect. It is NOT worth the risk of of experiencing what I have experienced. Another unpleasant side effect was no sex drive, a combination of the extreme sadness and weight gain. I also had my period for 14 days straight(normal for me is 7), so I really can't say how effective. This experience was so severe that I will never be taking ANY birth control ever again.I have my life back, my relationship with my beautiful son and husband are back to the way they were before I started this pill. Im bearly going to be taking Azurette. I will see how it goes. This is my first bc. I've seen horrible reviews BUT with one catch. Most women experience horrible side effects after being switched from Kariva. This could be the thing causing the bad review, the switch. Cause people who didn't have this particular switch don't seem to be experiencing anything bad. Just a observation. Oh well I'll see how it goes

I've been on this pill for a little over a month. The first pill of the month can make me a little moody but not anything too bad or unbearable. My cramps weren't bad and the little weight gain isn't awful in comparison to others. I think I'll stay on this pill

I've only been on this particular birth control for a little over a month, but not by my decision. I was originally on Kariva for 9 months and suddenly my pharmacy switched me to this terrible generic! I thought I was going insane when I kept having uneasy feelings like something isn't right with me, headaches, I've gained weight (which is actually hard for me to do), ridiculous mood swings, and times when I just want to cry. It's comforting knowing that its not something wrong with me judging from a lot of the reviews I've read.Read More Read Less

I'm so glad I found these reviews- I feel much better about everything that's been going on. I've taken Azurette for about a year and a half. Recently, I forgot two pills in a row and got my period two weeks early. Since then, I've gotten back on track but my body is going crazy. I've gained a little bit of weight, all in my breasts and thighs. I've experienced frequent bladder infections and occasional yeast infections since I've started the pill, but before I started taking it I never had either. I'm much more prone to nervousness and overreacting, which is very unlike me. For a while I was worried I was pregnant but at this point I'm pretty sure it's the pill. I start the placebos tomorrow, and I'm planning to call my doctor and see about switching. Read More Read Less

Switching to this lower dose birth control completely got rid of my headaches. I get my period the same time every month, it is light and not bad what so ever. I have not seen much of a change in mood, and have only gained like 3-4 lbs over the course of 7 months. With my copay insurance it's free. Don't let the other reviews scare you because every one is different and I have not had any crazy side effects, give your body time to adjust, the longer you take it the better it works

My monthly periods have been the worst since the first day I started having them. Years of agonizing pain my doctor finally put me on this birth control. I was worried about the chances of having those crazy mood swings but I never got them. Besides 10 lbs of a weight gain I enjoy this Birth Control. Every girl is different.
