Horrible horrible pill. I have been on it for 2 years. It gives me weird bumps on my chin that don't go away unless I pick at them and scab over into horrible pus scabs. I am not me, I yell at stupid things, cry for no reason and have suicidal thoughts. My emotions are like I am on my period times 10. I literally can't stop crying or being angry at everyone. This pill has completely changed who I ...

I was automatically switched from Kariva to Azurette when the price for Kariva went up. I'm only on my first month, but I'm switching off of it right away. I'm an avid runner, but have gained 4 pounds (in two weeks!). I'm suffering severe cramping and indigestion. My face has broken out, and I'm losing quite a bit of hair. Can't wait to get back on Kariva.

I have been on Azurette for 4 months now and called my dr. to change. The first month I had wicked headaches which I never get and mood swings. I started a day late and my cycle lasted 9 days. The second month I was a day early and just one headache and it lasted 6 days. The third month a day late, no headaches, no mood swings and only 5 days...thought things were slowly getting better. The fourth month I started a week and a half early! I can't handle the irregularity.I was on Kariva before this, but only for a month because my mail in prescriptions through Medco didn't carry it so they switched me to Azurette. Going to try the Kariva and just pay monthly at the pharmacyRead More Read Less

I am 24 years old, I was on syronix before azurette and was having trouble with cramps and nausea. I am now on week 3.5 with azurette and it is the worst experience I've ever had. The first week I suffered insane mood swings, crying for no reason and having migraines so bad I couldn't even look at my phone. Then the breast pain and horrible cramping started which I'm still having and I'm just not myself at all. I have weird food cravings, really bad mood swings, I gained 6 lbs in 3 weeks, I'm exhausted, I am constipated but then all of a sudden will have really awful stomach pains and the worst heartburn and I feel completely off...the list just goes on. I'm honestly petrified to get to the last week of this pack. I feel sorry for my family for having to deal with me this month and for myself because I'm so unlike myself. When I read these reviews tonight I felt relieved that I'm not the only one who has had such a bad experience. I was pretty freaked out.Read More Read Less

I had to switch birth controls due to insurance. Azurette made me bloaty, paranoid, and extremely emotional. I am known to be a calm/relaxed person. For me this pill is a no go. I am getting off today.

Everything you read about this medication and the side affects of nausea, headache, not feeling like your self, etc. YEAH. It is ALL true. Take it from me, before I started this, I looked at this very site. And believed 'oh, it won't effect me, they're just tryin' to scare me'. No.. It DOES do this. & It is wicked scary. I suggest running from this drug as fast as your feet can carry you.

I'm writing to say that Mircette and Azurette are probably similar, but they are not the same pill. I was on Mircette for about 7 years and changed to Azurette due to insurance. Azurette definitely does not have the exact same ingredients as Mircette, even though the insurance company claims it to be the same. As soon as I switched I had breast tenderness and cramping. This has been for almost a year now. I'm sure Azurette works for some people, just not me. I'm switching back to Mircette.

On this pill, I've gotten severe mood swings and food cravings, complete lack of sex drive unless I am on the inactive pills, and headaches which are extremely abnormal for me. Switching pharmacies and back to Kariva soon.

I was diagnose with endometriosis and took Kariva for several months before switching, and although I experienced some changes, none were as bad as with Azurrette. I didn't gain any weight with Kariva, and my breasts only grew a little. On Azurrette, I gained 2o pounds and two cup sizes, the weight has been difficult to lose, I have terrible migraines, and have been short of breath. I spot a lot as well. Overall, I am extremely unsatisfied and am ending my use of this drug until I talk to my doctor. Read More Read Less

My first birth control, and almost done with my first pack. Was very nervous about the possibility of my libido dropping. I suppose I cannot compare much to other women who have their significant other nearby. My boyfriend and I are doing the long distance thing. When we see each other we have sex very frequently. I have noticed that I do have to use lube because I have become dry- surprising? YES. With that help I stay wet and sex is enjoyable. The first week was fine. Week 2 was horrible emotionally, I was irritated for no reason and frustrated. I did not spot. In week 3 I spotted every single day, but my mood was better, still slightly emotional. I am currently in week 4- mood is much better! Getting back to normal, discoloration in my everyday secretion. OVERALL, I rate this BC as satisfying. I was warned about the side effects of moodiness. I thought my body wouldn't spot because I'm extremely healthy, but I did. Sad. I also did not gain weight- I lost 10 pounds somehow, this is w/o no extra working out or lack of eating. It just disappeared. I will continue using this unless I find myself becoming extremely incompatible as a partner and person in every day life. Hope this helps! ALSO** my boyfriend was really supportive and said I handled myself well in the week of down. That always helps, I hope this helps anyone that reads!!!! I am also 24 going on 25, 5'6, hispanic, and formally weighed 160 (now 150!). Read More Read Less

After being on TriSpentic for 4 years my body's hormone levels changed and I was having 2-3 week periods. My doctor prescribed this medication and I was extremely moody, my bleeding got worse, I experienced horrible cramps and fatigue, acne got worse. I have now be taken off this medication by my doctor. The only pro's was no breast tenderness or weight gain.

this is my first time taking birth control. but overall, the medication does work. i've only been on it for about a month, and it seems fine. i noticed a slight weight gain and no desire for sex at all. but seeing as how i'm an asexual, i'm just fine with that situtation. my period is lighter and less cramp pains (thank god). but no vaginal irritation or dryness for me. tbc if anything changes...

Started this pill a while back because I had to switch from Kariva and at first it was good. Then I realized I was skipping some active pills (Kariva`s last week is all inactive so I would skip them and assumed it was the same with these since they are both generic for the same pill) so when I took all of the pills I skipped my period for 2 months but then the 3rd month after I started taking all the pills I got my period (which was lighter while on kariva) the cramps were so bad. I was taking 400MG of Ibuprofen and they still wouldnt go away. it would decrease the pain some but I had to constantly have a heating pad on my stomach. If I even go up for a second, such as going to the bathroom, they would start coming back almost instantly. that was last month. this month I didnt get my period til sunday (right before starting a new pack) with awful cramps (somewhat manageable with ibuprofen)and now Ive been on my period for 2 days and Im hoping itll be gone in a day. 2 days tops. It also made my anxiety WAY worse. I need the pills for cramps but Im not taking these pills anymore. At my Drs appt in a month Im getting them switched. Bottom line: Dont use these pills.Read More Read Less

This is the second month I've taken Azurette. The last time I took birth control was 7years ago (Orthotricylin). I am so glad I read these reviews. I've had horrible mood swings and depression coupled with anxiety and severe over-eating! I can't wait to get off it!

I have been on 5 types of birth control. My first two were great, but then I went through two others because of weight gain and spotting during the month. I have been on Azurette for a year now and I haven't experienced any weight gain, moodiness, spotting, etc. Every woman is different, but it has been working great for me.

I had never had any problems with bc before azurette. Then last year I started taking it and I thought I was going crazy. I was depressed, never experienced anything like that even in my 'sad' highschool days, which was just silly anyways when I look back. I was crying constantly, always unhappy with my bf, crying to him about things then 5 mins later crying about how sorry I was that I got upset over something so stupid. I was crying in the shower to hide it. Then I read reviews online and immediately went to my gyno. She said she had been writing prescriptions and pharmacies of her patients had been sending azurette and she was getting calls daily from women who were so confused about why their moods had changed so radically. She started writing 'not azurette' on her slips. I started taking a new pill right away and within a month I was myself again and I can't tell you how relieving that is to not be so paranoid and sad every day of my life. Don't wait if you feel your mood change, go to your dr right away!Read More Read Less

I have been on birth control for nearly 8 years. Five of those eight years I was prescribed Kariva until it was no longer offered and then I began taking Azurette. Fortunately, I have never had any negative side effects from this pill. My mood, sex drive, and weight all remained the same. Again, each woman is different. Hope you can find one that works for you!

I have been taking Azurette for 3 years now and can honestly say I've not really had any problems while on it other than the occasional mood swing about a week before my period, which is pretty normal for me anyways. I started taking it to balance out my period as I could go 3 months at a time without having one, then bleed for 3 weeks. My period is now only 3 days and very light compared to what it was. I'm very happy with this birth control.

Was given this to treat ovarian cysts and get me back to a normal cycle before my husband and I try to conceive in a few months. I've taken Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo before and thought it was bad b/c I had intermittent cramping. Boy did I know how good it was compared to this! On it for a week now and within 4 hrs of taking first pill I got violently naused and vomited, so bad that they called in Zofran for me b/c I couldn't keep Phenergan down. Dr. tried to tell me it wasn't the Azurette, though. Now, 5 days later everyday I've been on this I feel like I have the flu--awful body aches, so bad that I've actually missed work! I have no fever, so I know it's not actually the flu plus nausea has stopped since I started taking it at night. I just have general achy body and night sweats are only followed by cold sweats and chills throughout my ENTIRE DAY. Today I have been so depressed I feel like I'm not even really myself or alive--I cried for 2 hours today over something minimal. I feel like I'm going nuts. Plus I read about hair loss and skin discoloration--WHO WOULD ACTUALLY STAY ON THIS KNOWING THAT? I would have never bought it if Dr had told me any of these things. I feel like I have the flu, constant chills, violent nausea and vomiting if not taken at night, and also I must mention moderate cramping, like period cramps but I can almost really feel the spasms when they happen. This drug is going to ruin people's lives! Beware, that's all I can say. Read More Read Less
