Horrible horrible pill. I have been on it for 2 years. It gives me weird bumps on my chin that don't go away unless I pick at them and scab over into horrible pus scabs. I am not me, I yell at stupid things, cry for no reason and have suicidal thoughts. My emotions are like I am on my period times 10. I literally can't stop crying or being angry at everyone. This pill has completely changed who I ...

I have been using this to treat PCOS. I got this pill because of its anti-androgenic properties when I saw an increase of hair under my chin. If NuvaRing worked for you, this should work! They have the same hormones. My hair has come in thinner and I've had no negative side effects.

Although this has worked for me aka I haven't gotten pregnant I'm switching to something else as soon as possible. I'm halfway through my second pack and my emotions have never been so crazy. I cry about everything happy or sad. And I'm not a person who cries all that much but this past month and a half I've cried so much. It's ridiculous and it's frustrating to myself and others around me. I wouldn't suggest taking this. Even though it is cheap it is not worth it.

I tried to rate this as honestly as possible. I had extreme anxiety and mood swings while taking this. My boyfriend and I almost broke up because I would be constantly angry or picking fights with him. I also gained 10 lbs within the first month. I switched to yasmin and I feel great, no mood swings or anger and anxiety. I also have already started to lose the weight I gained. I know every pill is different for every person, but there's a reason why this one is rated so low! Don't take it!

DO NOT USE THIS BIRTH CONTROL! I took it 1 day and within 30 minutes of taking the pill I began to feel side effects. My vision was blurry, I was dizzy, nauseous, and for a headache. I took it at 7:30pm and at 1:30am I threw up. I couldn't sleep and felt terrible after taking the pill. Worst bc I have ever tried!

Being on azurette was a horrific experience for me; I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. I took this for one month after switching from Sprintec. 2 weeks into the pack I was a MESS. I was too nauseous to keep food down, I was having diarrhea, bloating and gas pain, I'd wake up with hot and cold flashes every night, I was depressed as all hell and crying at random for no reason at all. I developed anxiety (I've only ever had it once when on depo provera) and just felt awful and exhausted all the time. I lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks and my hair is falling out like crazy. Finally, a few days before the sugar pills I put things together and realized it was the pill so I stopped. I've been off for 2 weeks now and I'm slowly but surely feeling better. My GI tract is still a mess and I'm on a special diet to heal it. I'm a very healthy eater and I believe the pill caused the GI stress. My sex drive is coming back and my depression is lifting. I STRONGLY CAUTION AGAINST TRYING THIS MEDICATION. it's just not worth the risk, it steals the life right out of you. Read More Read Less

I have been on this for about 10 months. I never really had crazy side effects from it. At first, I would be moody and irritated, but that is normal starting a pill. My period was light for the first couple of months than the last 3 months have been so extremely heavy. I went to my normal doctor about 3 months ago for a check up, he said my blood pressure was slightly high. I never had a problem with blood pressure before. I went to my gyno yesterday and my blood pressure was extremely high and I am only 25. She took me right off of it and switching me to an iud that will not affect my blood pressure. I've been taking this BC since I was switched from Kariva by Walgreens over a year ago. I couldn't figure out why I had no sex drive, vaginal dryness, pain during intercourse, extreme moodiness and anger, fatigue, breast tenderness, weight gain, and acne. When I switched insurances I had to do some research on some other BCs and stumbled across this page. Wow, I can't believe this is happening to other women! I called around and my local Target stocks Kariva. I told my Dr. at my appointment today to write the Rx for Kariva. He probably thinks I'm nuts but I don't care...let's hope going back to Kariva works!!!Read More Read Less

I took Azurette for 2+ years, and it was very compatible with me. It took about a month to adjust to initially, and I was emotionally sensitive during that time. In the past I've tried Yaz, which turned me into an emotional robot and made sex impossible without lubrication. Azurette in comparison was a very "gentle" hormonal BC once my body adjusted. Pros: minimal cramping, light periods, no break-outs, effective as BC, no change in weight Cons: slightly decreased interest in sex/vaginal drynessRead More Read Less

This BCP cleared my skin completely, and even took the oiliness away. My boobs got bigger. The skin on my hair even seemed to be lighter/less coarse. So it pretty much controlled all of my hormone-related problems. I also lost weight. It lessened my cramps a tiny bit...but my periods were still pretty long, and somewhat heavy. The pill did cause me to lose my sex drive, and also made me very angry at times.

My first month was pretty rough. Moody and tired, much like many other women. After starting my second pack, my moods aren't nearly as bad as they were before- my boyfriend hasn't complained about my attitude in a while! Although, I did have a moment when my son scraped off my toe nail polish AND I didn't get the meal I asked for (understandable, right :) I have noticed some breast tenderness within the last 2 days. Hope I'm not pregnant., I've been taking my pill as directed...

I started taking this birth control for exactly 1 week. The side effects are horrible, I have been crying all day for the dumbest reasons. I cry when my husbands goes to work, I cry when I have to make dinner, I cry on the way to Walmart. I cried in the drive thru at McDonalds because I was in line for a long time. My family looks at me like I have just lost my mind. They don't know what to say to me in fear of my breaking out in tears. All I want is to have sex with my husband w/o a condom and NOT get pregnant. I told my doctor that I wanted something that isn't gonna make me emotional because I am that way naturally. I guess she missed that part because the side affects are everything I told her I didn't want to suffer from. And to boot I am so sleepy I have to take a nap during the day and sleep hard as a rock at night but then I can't get up in the morning. Do your research before you waste your $$$ on experimental birth control pills. Read More Read Less

I have been taking this BC for the last year. The first 6 months I had no problem. This last 6 months I have gained 15 pounds, my mood has severely changed...I have no energy, extremely hard to get out of bed, tired all the time. My sex drive has decreased heavily. I have palpitations and anxiety attacks over little things that never used to bother me. I thought it was me all this time until I read these reviews and realized im not the only one going through this. Im done with this BC. Trying to decide if I want to try another one or just stick with condoms. This has been a horrible experience for me.Read More Read Less

I have been taking Azurette for approx. 6 weeks now. Since I began taking it, I have had extreme breast tenderness and they have gotten bigger (but I'm already a D so not a great thing for me.) Also, I'm experiencing cramping at many times throughout the month and some extreme mental changes. I have been unnaturally angry and aggressive. I am generally a positive and happy person, but for the past 6 weeks I feel like the main emotion I experience is anger. I find myself thinking extremely vicious thoughts toward others and being irritated very easily. I am not myself mentally. I've also had several anxiety attacks and my sex drive has decreased. I want my Ortho Tri Cyclen back!Read More Read Less

I previously have been taking Kariva and like many on this forum I have been switched to azurette. I have had intense mood swings and anxiety also I have developed pitting on my breast and a rash on my breasts. I get headaches every time I use this birth control. Lets just say I am not taking this again! It is not the same as Kariva even though pharmacists say it is.

I feel like a completely different person since Ive started taking the pill. My irritability has increased, I am constantly an emotional wreck, Ive even developed an acne issue. I have no motivation to do anything anymore. I have never had this much trouble with birth control until my pharmacy switched me. I have considered calling my doctor and asking what she suggests but Ive kind of scared to get something worse than this.

This BC made me go through crazy mood swings, increased my appetite, made me gain weight, made my boobs larger and more tender, and overall depressed and tired. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. My doctor switched me because of the cost of my previous birth control and my insurance covered this one, but nothing is worth experiencing these types of side effects. I thought that after 3 months the side effects would subside but I just finished my fourth pack and am counting down the days to switch to my new birth control because my experience has been so terrible. I started taking Azurette 4 months ago. I am on my last week of my 4th pack and I am an emotional wreck. The past few months have been hell for me, like a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I have extremely bad mood swings on a daily basis, I get extremely angry and paranoid for no reason. I have been fighting with my bf all the time, feel paranoid/insecure, its just been a mess. I kind of suspected this pill maybe affecting me a little, but didnt put two and two together until I came across these reviews! Now it all makes sense. I am calling my doctor first thing tomorrow, and swithing to something else. (I'm scared to even try!) Not to mention, I have experienced a way lower libido, fatigue, and depression due to my mood swings. Stay away! Read these reviews!Read More Read Less

I am 18 years old and started Azurette because I have experienced ovarian cysts and polyps frequently before taking Azurette. Azurette has almost completely eliminated all the cysts I've had. I used to have cysts almost every month beforehand, and now since Azurette (over 6 months) I experienced only one small one. Azurette has not only eliminated the cysts, but it has improved my life in so many ways besides that. I used to be tired and sluggish every day no matter how many hours of sleep I got the night before, and now I feel happy and fully rested every day. I also experience intestinal issues and extreme bloating, and it has greatly eased that pain as well. My period is light and short. My cramps are practically nonexistent. The first week of taking it, I did experience a little moodiness, but it was not an issue at all and went away after that week. As for teen girls wondering if you will gain weight and use it as a reason not to take birth control, Azurette did NOT make me gain weight. Read More Read Less

This pill has caused my moods to switch from one extreme to the other, caused me to have extremely high blood pressure and cause me to have heart palpitations(heart skipping beats). Loss of my sexual drive. caused me to get fevers for weeks and headaches and made me even more depressed.

I am BEYOND happy that I researched this. I am like a lot of other women on here I got switched from Kariva, talked to the pharmacist and they ASSURED me that it was the same. NO. A year later absolutely not the same, my cholesterol level is extremely high, i'm only 23 and eat a healthy diet. My hair is thinning. I have developed the melasma or whatever the hell its called on my legs. I am so not happy, the only happy thing is that I found this thread and found that people relate to me, I will not take another pill I also gained 8 lbs since last year, I have not gained weight in the last 5 years..hmm...so upset that they are trying to pass this off as a generic brand. I am moody and will cry over the STUPIDEST things, it also makes me very anxious and now I know i'm not crazy I have a huge wave of relief over me. Read More Read Less
