Horrible horrible pill. I have been on it for 2 years. It gives me weird bumps on my chin that don't go away unless I pick at them and scab over into horrible pus scabs. I am not me, I yell at stupid things, cry for no reason and have suicidal thoughts. My emotions are like I am on my period times 10. I literally can't stop crying or being angry at everyone. This pill has completely changed who I ...

I also went to Wal-Greens to have my birth control filled and they switched it out to Azurette. Within one year; I had most of the symptoms listed here AND I had a cancerous tumor form in my uterus. I had started stopping heavily; almost a period; after seven months on Azurette. A pelvic ultrasound found the tumor and I am now a year out from surgery. I had a previous ultrasound done before taking this pill and all was fine. I wanted to get this information out there as I think that first it is wrong for Wal-greens to be switching our prescriptions out and two, there is ABSOLUTELY no doubt in my mind that Azurette caused my problems. My doctor was amazed that I was not taking what he had written for me; in fact he had never heard of Azurette. It has changed my life forever. Please be careful and listen to your own bodies.Read More Read Less

This is my first time ever taking birth control. About to start my 4th week. Although it did cause headaches and spotting the first week, that quickly subsided as my body adjusted. Only prolonged side effect is my breasts have been sore for weeks. Other than that, this pill does its job and I'd recommend.

well i was put on this birth control for my ovarian cyst but it works amazing as a contraceptive never had a scare. and my period used to be so irregular. it would last for a whole week and come every 2 months, now i am regular once a month and it only lasts 2 to 3 days.i hav no more cramps or fatigue that cause me to be bed ridden. i have minamal bloating and my flow is not as heavy as it used to be. oh and its been helping with the shrinking of my cyst and has prevented others from forming. so i definately recommend this birth control.Read More Read Less

I trusted my doctor/nurse when they said this would be a great pill for me because of the constant level of hormones, even on the period week. I have not had the headaches & migraines some of you have had. However, I am absolutely exhausted all the time and sleep all day on my days off. I also have had my period or spotting for almost a month straight! I am constantly crampy & grouchy. I am also sad &/or mad all the time. This has caused numerous problems in my life, I mean who wants to be around someone that unhappy all the time?! I am discontinuing my use of this drug. My acne has also worsened due to the pill as well.Read More Read Less

Constant fatigue. I have been exhausted the past three months since switching to Azurette. I went from working out 5 days a week after work to having zero energy to do anything except come home and sit on my couch after work. I'm too tired to even make dinner. I even try to sneak home at lunch to take a nap because I'm so tired. I couldn't figure it out and thought I was going through a lazy phase, the found these reviews. I am calling my doctor tomorrow and switching back!

I have been on this pill for about five months. I've had pain during intercourse (probably due to vaginal dryness, which also causes some itchiness), decreased libido, migraines, and fatigue. Another vague symptom: not really feeling "there." Another reviewer wrote that, and it feels so true. All I can say is at least I'm not pregnant, and I'm glad I can say I stuck with it for a while before switching.

I have been taking it for 6 years and at the beginning of this month i lost my new pack and my gyno didnt have any samples for me so i am currently waiting for the new month so i can pick it up at the pharmacy. I have been off for almost a month and my mood is lighter and happier...i dont know if it was the birth control giving me mood swings, but now i am contemplating not even starting it again when i get my refill just because i feel so great now

I had been prescribed Kariva and Walgreens switched it to Azurette. I have been crazy. I am angry all the time and snap on people for no reason. I am always hungry and tired. I have absolutely NO sex drive (which is causing relationship problems). And I never feel like I'm completely "here" anymore. I thought maybe my body was just going through changes from having a baby but I got on here to look at the reviews because I thought maybe it was this pill and come to find out, I'm not the only one who feels this way. I'm totally switching my birth control when I go to the doctor next month. Thanks for posting ladies!!! You may have saved my relationship. :)Read More Read Less

I have taken this for a year and had many of the bad side effects listed. I'm also on adderal, so I wasn't sure which one was making me act like a crazy person until I recently switched my birth control. Don't take this if you have other options, it made me very moody and caused many fights between me and people close to me. It also made me begin to break out, something that hasn't happened in a while and I haven't been able to be break out free until I finally got off this medication. Hope this helps!Read More Read Less

It kept making me get bladder infections and i had no sex drive what so ever and got super angry all the time. The worst i have ever taken by far!

This is the WORST birth control ever. I was put on it because it was "low-dose"and because of a strong family cancer history, it's caused so many problems. It caused Malasma, so now I have these horrible dark spots on my face that are perminent. Oh and hair on places of my face that are NOT cute. It's taken my libido from 100% to 1% and is causing relationship problems. I went to a new obgyn and she said that it is a "strange" birth control and she took me off for good. I've been pill-less for almost a month and no sign of my old libido yet. Any idea on how long it takes for your body to adjust and go back to normal? ThanksRead More Read Less

So glad I've read what others experience too. I have been struggling with hives and migraines since starting Azurette. I'm on my second pack, and both the hives and migraines are getting worse the longer I'm on the medication. I am calling my doctor today.today.

I have a few days left on my second pack of Azurette. Since the first day I started taking it, I felt awful. I have had migraines, nausea, and severe fatigue nonstop since taking it. I called my doctor today and am trying a different kind. This has been the worst experience with any kind of drug.

Thank you all for your comments! I am so glad to find out that I'm not the only one who had a horrible experience switching from Kariva to Azurette! My insurance stopped covering Kariva so I had to switch to Azurette a month ago. Since then I've gained 5 pounds and got pimples for the first time in 10 years (I'm now 27 and I rarely even got them as a teenager).. but those two issues aren't a big deal at all compared to the horrible, out-of-body-experience type mood swings that happened when moving from week 2 to week 3. It went beyond irritability to rage and then depression and anxiety. I didn't want to leave my apartment for three days. Only on the third day did I realize that it might have something to do with the new hormones pumping through my body. Both Mircette and Kariva worked wonderfully for me with no negative side effects but there must me some not-so-"inactive" ingredient or combination in Azurette that does not gel with my chemical make-up. I know every woman reacts differently to different types of pills and you have to just try a bunch of different ones until one works for you, but anyone who's liked Mircette or Kariva and is thinking of Azurette should keep this in mind... I cannot wait to start my new pack of Kariva on Sunday.Read More Read Less

Due to a change in insurance, I was forced to change from my previous birth control pill to Azurette. I just finished my 4th month on this pill & will be calling my doctor tomorrow. I cramp throughout the month, my hips hurt off & on (as they did when I was pregnant), I have multiple migrain headaches each month, have a huge discolored skin area that has appeared on my face in the past week, & I am moody & angry a lot (not a great thing for a mom of 3). My period has also gotten longer on this pill than on my previous one, & I have been experiencing bloating during my period for the 1st time ever! I am VERY unsatisfied with this medication!Read More Read Less
