I'm a Nurse. Have been having chest pain, which my doc feels is vasospasm. Switched me from Atenolol to Bystolic. First night no sleep. First morning woke up with pain in right thigh. Second day H/A, nausea, joint pain, muscle aches. Second night, no sleep, fever, shaking chills, severe GI upset(yes, it could have been a virus). Third day mood changes (anger and depression), lethargy, H/A turned into migraine. Fourth day severe joint pain, muscle aches, right flank pain, sore throat, cough, irregular pulse, SOB, migraine worse, nausea. Fifth day no H/A, but still have joint pain, muscle aches, withdrawn, lethargic, ready to fight at the drop of a hat. It ain't worth it. Going back to Atenolol (originally for migraines and PSVT up to 170 or greater). Three years ago, had to have a pacemaker due to sick sinus syndrome. So, I will just have to deal with vasospasm of heart vessels, as my Cardiologist says "Your coronaries are fine." He also said if I had any problems to switch back to Atenolol. Roger that!
