I've been taking this for a little over a month now. My heart rate and blood pressure have both dropped greatly. Here's the downside, I have become very tired and sluggish and have been packing on the pounds like a bear preparing for winter.

I started this medication last week, my blood pressure dropped rapidly, and most importantly, my pulse that is regularly over 100, dropped into the low 80's. I'd been on Toprol-XL for several years and did fine, but the fast heartrate wouldn't come down. I feel quite well, and have no problems.

I have an appt with doctor today to GET OFF THIS MED!!!! In my opinion, this drug can kill you!!! I truly believe that docs are sold this stuff from reps and get free trips and we suffer and could die from it. My problem is nightmares, tiredness in am, severe dizzy and lightheaded....bye bye

This is my third attempt to use a Beta blocker, and Bystolic is really great for me. My heart rhythm is much more regular (didn't even know it was a problem) and I can lie on my left side again without having chest pains. It's also helped with other issues related to anxiety, and I seem to have better blood flow to my extremities. (All of them.)

I started taking this 4 weeks ago and my blood pressure numbers have REALLY improved! This is my first time taking any kind of medication for BP and so far am impressed with how fast this worked for me with no side effects. My co-pmt seem very high at $68... for 30 pills. So far so good!

this was prescribed by my psychiatrist for-of all things-low libido caused by an SSRI antidepressant, because there is some anecdotal stuff he read/heard in the psych community that it helps with libido. 5 mg pill cut in half, take once a day. turns out I do have stage 1 hypertension, and it seems to work great for that, even at that low dose. so, ineffective for libido, but works very well for hypertension.

I started this medication 2 weeks ago. I had been taking CardizemLA for the last few years, with no side effects. Unfortunately, it is not available anymore. Since starting Bystolic I have been tired, headache, severe aches and pains in legs, swelling of hands and feet, pain in shoulder and neck,etc.... I cannot believe FDA would approve such a medicine with so many side effects. I have been so ill I have not felt like leaving my home. I have decided, after reading all the other opinions on this site, I will stop this pill immediately. I have a Dr. appointment on Thursday to discuss an alternative drug.Read More Read Less

I have developed loss of smell and very thick mucus in my nose after I take bystolic. A burning sensation in my nose that gets worse about an hour after I take it. How do I get off this medication?

Needed something to replace Ziac 10mg, as it was no longer doing the job for me. PA gave me Bystolic 5mg & 10mg samples. Started w/5mg for a week then on to 10mg. Thought all was fine w/the 5mg..however moving on to the 10mg is a different story. My stomach feels like a hole has been burned into it and my left ear rings (tinnitus) to the point of causing slight hearing impairment. After reading the reviews here, I've identified even more symptoms that I'm having with Bystolic. The leg cramping, tiredness/weakness, muscle pain in neck/shoulders, poor sleep..I've got all those too. Short term memory loss, brain fog, slight headache ..I feel like a toxic guinea pig. The stomach pain is the worst side effect for me, the tinnitus is a very close second.. not sure where to go from here, meds wise.(?)Read More Read Less

After taking Bystolic for only 4 days, I have had several side effects, tightness in chest, breathing labored, anxiety, nausea, diarrhea, feeling like I was getting a cold or flu, numbness and tingling in arms and legs, head aches, pain and pressure in left temple remaining for over 20 hrs now. Feverish feeling through body and face. Some side effect would come and go.
