This drug almost killed me. Do not take this drug or you will wind up with severe side effects. I could not breathe and extreme dizzyness after 6 months on that poison. GET OFF IT IF YOU ARE SICK FROM IT OR ELSE!! Only 1/10,000 people can take this drug. Here is what my new dr put me on. Atacand 32mg 1x a day..Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg 1 x in am and clonidine,.05 2 x a day am and pm.. Get off BYSTOLIC OR DIE FROM IT. Also 1000 mg of fish oil 2 x a day with food. Started this medication in Oct. 2010. Liver function at that time was normal. After 6 months on this drug started getting adbonial pain that the doctor thinks is transfer pain from a liver that is now not functioning properly. Sonagram showed liver issues. CT next week should tell more. No proof that this medication is the cause, however have gone back to my old medication.

My doctor prescribed this medicine for heart palpatations and slightly high blood pressure. I've been on it for about 2 weeks and my hands and fingers are swollen & tingly; I have joint and muscle pain; I'm tired and depressed I feel like I can't empty my bladder and I also have bad gas that rumbles around in my stomach. I've also put on about 5 pounds and I'm miserable in general. I just called to see what else I can try. I started taking this med in January. While it controlled by BP well, I experienced terrible fatigue and bone pain,daily headache as well as depression. Dr. switched me to another BP med in late March. After a week of no Bystolic, I'm feeling much better. This is only the 2nd time in my life I've had a bad reaction to a medication.

I took my first pill (5mg) this morning and my ears are ringing, had a a bout with minor Diarrhea, feel a bit lightheaded and have to concentrate when visually looking at items. This is my first time on BP medicine so I don't know what to expect. Will give it 3 days, but will call doctor to get his opinion.

My blood pressure was up a little and my family Dr. sent me to a cardiologist because he said they were the experts on controlling bp. He put me on Bystolic 5mg twice a day. I started taking it on March 5th and on March 14th(Sunday night) I started feeling bad and went to the Dr. on Monday and was told I probably had a virus. I was told to quit taking all my medicine for 24 hours and come back in a week unless I got worse. I was tired & weak Wed. & Thur. but felt pretty good. Thur. through the night I got short of breath and felt horible. Friday I could barely walk and had to hold to something to get through the house (felt terrible) I went to Dr. and the nurse kept getting a very low BP reading. They took a EKG which showed my heart skipping beats for 4 or 5 seconds at a time. I was immediately sent to the hospital and was put on a monitor and giving IV for 3 days to get the Bystolic out of my system. On the 3rd day my heart beat got back to normal. I went home and went to Dr. the next day and am waiting on blood work results now. This drug almost killed me. I HAVEN'T SLEPT WELL SINCE I STATRED TAKING THIS. I'M AN EMOTIONAL WRECK, AND I'M UP GOING TO THE BATHROOM EVERY 2 HOURS AT NIGHT.

I just started taking this medication and my blood pressure is really high now. I am getting very concerned, this is my second day and I am not sure if I have to wait a week to see good results.

Horrible! A few hours after taking Bystolic 10mg I started feeling very dizzy, and tired although I have not been able to sleep for at least 24 hours after taking the pill even though I had taken it after dinner.

I'm experiencing an increase of blood pressure after taking this medicine e. woke up this morning ith 138/70 took 10mg Bystolic and 4 1/2 hours alter my readings increased to 167/81.

Got rid of my heart palpitations. Feel much better. No side effects.

Just started taken this med today

dizziness and lightheadedness, nausea, coughing, just felt crappy! I'd rather have high bp than feel this bad!!!

This medication works great and did not make me feel exhausted like atenalol did. It is very effective with no side effects for me.

Headaches, depression and dizziness

I have had headaches, tiredness, leg pain, palpatations very mild, and have had trouble with my eyes (drying and pain) don't know if it is caused by the Bystolic or not, but my blood pressure is finally lower. I have tried many different drugs and this one works so I am trying to wait until the other side effects are lessened that is if they are caused by the drug. I just hope that it does happen.
