I have taken Bystolic (5 mg and then titrated up to 7.5 and 10 mg) for many years in Europe and then after it was approved in the US. I've used many other beta blockers during my 17 years of AF, but none have worked as well.

bylostic worked for blood pressure, but in the last two weeks it has really messed up my eyes, with swolling in my eyes, blurry, felt like a heavy film over my eyes, stopped takeing bylostic, 4 days and my eyes are normal again. worse pill i have ever taken.

Was taking bystolic and lorsartan. Had to stop taking both. Had allergic reaction. Both made my mouth sore and tongue swell. I had been on them since 8-12-11

I am taking Bystolic for a rapid heart rate caused by PTSD. I have only read 1 other who was having problems with bladder cramping, pain and trouble empting bladder completly. I have also had rapid weight gain, heart palpatations and hair loss.

I have been on this drug for 7 days and my sex drive has tanked already. I have not been able to sustain an erection.

adding Bystolic to my other blood pressure med has resulted in normal readings for me(120/80) which could not be obtained before

Blood Pressure has leveled out but I can't sleep.

I TAKE 20 MG A DAY AND CAN'T GET MY BP LOW ENOUGH I HAVE TRIED A LOT OF BP MEDS AND THEY ALL HAVE SIDE EFFECTS, BYSTOLIC GIVES ME HEADACHES AND FATIQUE WEIGHT GAIN

I requested this medicine after reading of the benefits online which involve strengthiing the blood vessels and stroke prevention. I had a very rapid heart beat at around 120 beats per min before taking this med it has lowered to 75-80 my last two doctor visits. I was on Atenolol befor this and experienced a lot of side effects including loss of libido, and cold hands and feet. Since starting Bystolic those side effects have gone away and my libido has improved. I take it with lisinopril Hctz 2025 includes a water pill my total blood pressure has stabalized to 130/80 it was 180/90 before taking any blood pressure meds. Read More Read Less

so far so good taking a water pill with it had to stop taking water pill too many muscle cramps

I was put on bystolic and taken off atenolol after many heart rate falls. I suffer a-fib and irregular heart beat, Side effects are so bad with this bystolic that I want to come off it, My heart rate falls to 40 beats per minute almost every day and b/p falls to 75/41. I know I cannot go on with this + it causes extreme coughing with lots of white sticky phlegm. I can't go out because of the side effects coughing and falling heart rate and b/p too low. medicine slowed my heart rate but does notcontrol my blood pressure. After a while appeared to make me light headed. At times my ankles are swollen. I am contacting cardiologist for additional or other medication.

I have A Fib. This tx makes my blood pressure too low. I have naturally lower than average blood pressure. Since this med takes my bp too low, I experience light headed, feeling faint and dizziness. What else can I take that does not create this problem and is safe? I am very unhappy on Bystolic.

it has killed all sexual drive and desires and should be taken off the market. I know nothing will happen to the manufacturers or the drs. that prescribe it but they at least need to make patients aware that that is a side affect and make it the pateints option whether they choose to take it. It also makes you very,very irratable almost like your crazy.

My cardio doctor prescribed Bystolic after I complained about being tired all the time. He thought it was the metoporol causing the tireness. My blood pressure is great, but heart rate dropped to 43. I'm taking half a pill and bp and heart rate are good, but I broke out in a rash on my back, neck and under arm. I believe Bystolic is causing the rash, it is listed as one of the side effects. Anyone else having the same problem?
