worked as soon as I was given a dose of this medication.

nausea, dizziness, lightheadness

I'm not sure but I but I think it's causing my headaches, unless it's the Zocur I am taking.I started both drugs pretty much at the samt time, and have had a bad headache since.

Since taking this medication, I have experienced stroke like symptoms on more than one occasion.

After being diagnosed with severe hypertension my doctor put me on this medication because she said it was very effective and one of the safest on the market. I started taking 10mg and after about 10 months my BP is in normal range. I have noticed that I do have trouble sleeping. Although taking the pill first thing in the morning instead of at night has helped - alcohol also increases difficulty sleeping on this. I have experienced some fast/irregular heartbeat at times but nothing too serious that would make me stop taking this pill. Overall I am happy with the results. Read More Read Less

I have taken this drug for approximately 3 years for A Fib. I was originally put on Toprol XL and could not tolerate it. I felt lousy and had mood changes. I did some on-line research and came across this drug and asked my cardiologist if he would let me try it. It has worked very well for me. I still have infrequent small episodes of irregular heart beat, but I can tolerate that.

New to me - changing to this was easy and so far it is working great. No effects yet.

I have A.fib. this drug has been a life saver for me....no more E.R. visits in over 2 years...This has done wonders for me...Was on many other meds that made me deathly ill and didn't work.

I have been taking bystolic for almost 2 years. I have probably tolerated it a little better than most, but now I can not sleep and have swelling and pain in my legs along with absolutely no energy. Gaining weight and no breath. I am going to get off this drug. It will fool you to the point you are sick before you now it.

I took other beta blockers and they were not effective at controlling my atrial fib. And most caused anxiety and depression. NONE NONE NONE with bystolic! I am so happy. At 2.5 mg I was running about 100, down from 110. Then at 5mg daily I run at 88! Wondeful

Since dose has been increased I have headaches. Is this a side effect of this medication?

Med worked for a month then I started having troubles. Pressure creeped back up. Dr. raised dose. Had bad problems with sleep, and pressure kept climbing. I ended up in E.R. 3 times and they could not understand what happened. Ends up it raised blood sugars to horrible heights. I am not diabetic. Caused Palpatations, flutters all kinds of stuff. Almost killed me. Stay away from this med IMO.

This medicine made my hair come out in chunks. My cartiologist and dematologist both told me it was not the medicine...the hair loss was coincidental. After 6 months and 50% of hair loss my primary doctor changed my medicine to bystolic and my hair stopped coming out the next day! 3 months later and it has all grown back.

Started taking Bystolic to treat PVC's because my doctor said it might help with weight loss (previously taking atenolol). It was terible. Felt like moving in slow motion, headaches, breathing problems at night, confusion, insomnia, joint pain, and tired during the day. Needless to say I went back on the atenolol and feel much beter. I'd rather be over weight than take Bystolic again.

Caused nausea, diarrhea, sleeplessness after a few weeks of taking drug. However, it did what it was supposed to.

Extreme fatigue, swollen ankles. Heart rate in 40-50s. Shortness of breath on exertion. Unable to function my normal daily activities. Brain fog!
