I've been taking this for a little over a month now. My heart rate and blood pressure have both dropped greatly. Here's the downside, I have become very tired and sluggish and have been packing on the pounds like a bear preparing for winter.

Have taken several meds for the last 10 years for BP. About 2yrs ago 3 bp meds I was taking did not work. Dr put me on 5mg bystolic and told me it would do the entire job. Wrong. Hiked it up to 40MG and still did not work. Took it back down to 5mg and added 180mg Dilitiazem and 1.25mg Indapamide. Worked after increasing dilitiazem dosage to 2 120 mg tablets per day. BP was typically 135/80. Have had trouble sleeping, gained weight, and have swollen feet, ankles and itching. No erections. Combo of bystolic and diltiazem not good. BP is back up again. Getting off bystolic, expensive $40 per month copay and is a rather insidious agent the longer you taake it. Not sure what is next, and will have to figure that one out. Hoping sex life returns! Too much pain for the gain.Read More Read Less

I have had to get the dosage adjusted and be sure to take the medication on a regular schedule, but now it seems to work well.

My blood pressure went UP. I began sleeping 10 - 12 hrs per night and was very groggy days. I had very vivid disturbing dreams. I began to have mood swings from very irritable to very depressed. Terrible medication for me. Seeing doc tomorrow.

I dont know about anyone else, but I am not only on bystolic for angina, but also zoloft for depression and also take meds for problems sleeping. It is so hard to figure out what drug is doing what, but I have been on this drug for over 6 months and have contant sore throats, loss of voice, and now sinus infections and a wonderful cough that gets worse at night. I am slowly seeing it is this medication by process of elimination. Also hunger, therefore weight gain. I am asking my Dr. to take me off of this drug as I am only on it for non life threatening chest pain. Anyone else have these symptoms? I also sweat like Im running a marathon when doing light housework.....Sound familiar anyone?Read More Read Less

It is more agreeable with me than some other BP drugs. Lately, it hasn't been as effective in controlling my BP.

Med gave me Palpatations, Horrible knee pain, Shortness of breath, pulse was way fast. Sleeplessnes, anxiety, man You name it it did it. I have never had a med like this one. Worked for the first month or so then just quit. Had to switch. Thank God. P.S. be careful getting off this nasty creation. Very expense. If I wanted to be tortured I am sure I could have found a cheaper way.

The medicine is keeping my blood pressure down; with the exception of horibble weakness and tiredness. I have been diagnosed with CFS. Two years prior to taking Bystolic.

This drug is very dangerous if you have symptoms of sleep apnea. It is especially dangerous if you plan to sleep at high altitude. (above 6,000 ft)

Have been taking 10mg per day past 6 months. Worked well first month or so but then side effects kicked in. Loose stools, odd shooting pains in legs and arms, nausea, vertigo, headaches, fatigue, sleepy, rash on arm with swelling, ringing in ears, etc, etc, so needless to say enough is enough Im quitting it NOW!!

Remarkable decrease in BP and heart rate even on minimum dosage (5mg). Little or no significant side effects. Well pleased.
