I've been taking this for a little over a month now. My heart rate and blood pressure have both dropped greatly. Here's the downside, I have become very tired and sluggish and have been packing on the pounds like a bear preparing for winter.

Switched from Atenolol after 4 years to Toprol XL for 30 days and now Bystolic due to fatigue, dizziness and bloating. So far the Bystolic (5mg) is the lesser of the evils. I think all beta blockers are bad but they do control my bp and heart rate effectively. For me, Bystolic is easier on the fatigue and most of the other side effects I've had on the Atenolol and Toprol.

I've been on this 5 days. It has really managed the BP. I am extremely tired and have had diarrhea since I started taking it. checking with Dr. to see about something else.

Blood pressure lowered from 160/90 to 128/80,sometimes in evening increases to 150/80. Ok at first (1 week),tiredness steadily increased (so did the weight gain- 10 lbs), headaches, chest pains, breathless no energy at all. I'm getting off them, life like this is lousy. I'm sick of all the medications they push on me like an experimental rat. Oh yeah, itching like crazy too. I'm sure it's the medicine because I've always had a lot of energy, even in my old age.

It's a pill easy to take I took one. Issues oh yes. Doc wanted me on it with my lisinopril. 2.5mg each per day. Cough, diahreh and ED all back. Had not had since cutting dose of Lisinopril down to 2.5mg. Swelling in feet and ankles back from when I was on Caduet. BP is actually HIGHER!!! now than it was on just the 2.5 mg of Lisinopril. I swear my doctor is trying to kill me! Every week a new med. Well Sorry am stopping them all now.

I have been on it for over a month and have had no side effects at all. My BP is almost in noramal range and at my last DR visit he told me to take 1 1/2 pill per day 7.5 mg. I think that extra half has gotten me in the mid 120 over mid 80. I feel good

Initially it helped my atrial tachycardia immensely. Lately, I have been cutting my 10mg pills in half to get 5mg twice a day. (Insurance won't pay for 5mg pills twice a day!) I am concerned that by cutting them in half they have totally lost their effectiveness. I seem to be back to square one and am calling my dr. today.

I was given this for tachycardia. I was on it a week. My blood pressure was too low, my pulse dropped from 60 to 43, I was tired, gave me shortness of breath and I felt dead. My doctor took me off of it. Fortunately I was only on it 6 days.

I was taking 50 mg of "Toprol XL Oral" for the last nine months. I almost always felt wipe out/exhausted/tired it was felt like I just ran a 5K race. My Dr. said that it was probably being caused by the "Toprol XL Oral", so he switched me to 5mg of Bystolic. Since starting the Bystolic 1 week ago, I have not felt as worn out as before, maybe it's my imagination, who knows. I have a followup in a week, let's see how it affects my blood pressure reading(it has been averaging in the neighborhood of 150/80)Read More Read Less

I started taking 5 mg, three weeks ago. my chest pains are less frequent, but my bp hasn't decreased to a normal range yet. it is definitely causing nausea and making me gain weight. won't continue using.

This drug is expensive with medical insurance 45 dollars for 30 pills. It is making me super drowsy, which makes me late for work, so I can't pay for my expensive drugs. I have yet to check my bp to see if it is working though. Me and the doc will have to have a talk about this drug though.

I felt great for the first week or so, but then started developing severe fatigue, dizziness, and daily headaches. Need to find something different.
