I have been on this drug and truvada for only one month. I have found that I have severe insomnia and vivid dreams. Does the insomnia get better? Over all it is the best regimin I have been on in over 10 years. I just wished I could sleep. I told my doctor yesterday about the insomnia and he told me that there is no way that it would be caused by this drug. Really!!! Do these doctors do any research on the crap the have us on?

I am happy that I found this website. I thought I was going crazy with strange dreams and insomnia. Been on this med for about one month. I do ask...Has anyone's side effect esp. the dreams/insomnia gotten better? This scares me and has been troubling.

I was diagnosed with HIV in 2005. I got pregnant in 2007- started meds, had a healthy HIV- baby. After my pregnancy, my meds were switched from Norvir/Truvada to Isentress/Truvada. The only side effect I have is itchiness, which is quite tolerable considering my viral load has been undetectable since a few weeks after I started taking it. My T-Cells are above 700 and I am a little tired- but I have a 2 1/2 yr old...lol. It's a great drug- I'm just worried that there will be long term effects that we don't know about yet. I hope not! Then was sent to a allergist, placed on Singular,Gabapentin,Ketotifen. Then removed from drugs placed me on Ketotifen 1mg. 2tabs2xdy.on Mar. 9 2010 to go back on Apr.16/10. I switched to Isentress after a bad experience with Atripla. Except for the occassional crazy dream, the drug seems to be side effect free for me.

I have been on this medicine for 3 and 1/2 months and half my hair has fallen out, all my muscles hurt and just lifting my legs i feel like i'm picking up 50lb logs and having to take naps. I've also started having irregular heart beats again (this is why i switched i was on Invirase and it causes heart problems. I'm also have a real rough time getting going in the morning because i feel out of it and have now gotten to the point i don't feel like going to work. My doctor wants to keep me on Isentress, Norvir, and Viread becaue i am drug resistant to alot of the drugs. But i wonder how much more i can take of this. Is it worth all the side effects to keep vl undetectable? I have a huge decision to make at my next doctors appt. Read More Read Less

I HAVE JUST STARTED TAKING INSENTRESS 5 DAYS AGO. I WILL NOT KNOW THE EFFECTS ON MY NUMBERS TILL I GO FOR LABS IN 30 DAYS. I DID NOT READ ANY SIDE EFFECT UNTIL DAY 5. I HAVE BEEN HAVING VERY STRANGE DREAMS. VIVID,AND DISTURBING. DRY MOUTH, FEEL HUNGRY BUT DO'T FEEL LIKE EATING, AND TIRED MORE THAN I AM ALREADY WITH MY DEPRESSION I HAVE ADD, SO ANY JITTERY FEELINGS OR ANXIETY, I MAY NOT FEEL AS MUCH FROM THIS MED. THE REASON I STARTED THIS NEW REGEMENT WAS BECAUSE I COULD NOT SWALLOW THE NORVIR PILL. I HAVE BEEN DEALING DEPRESISON FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS. I LIKE THE FACT I ONLY TAKE 2 HIV PILLS IN THE MORNING AND 1 AT NIGHT. ISENTRESS IS AM/PM. OVERALL USE CONVIENTANT. GAVE A LOW SCORE FOR EFFECTIVENESS ONLY BECAUSE HAVE NOT DONE LAB WORK YET. I'M SURE IT WILL BE GOOD. MY NUMBERS CURRENTLY ARE 450 FOR T-CELLS, AND 20,000 FOR VIRAL. BEEN HIV SINCE 1986. I'VE BEEN ON A DRUG VACATION FOR 10 YEARS, AND JUST DECIDED WITH MY DR.'S INPUT OF STARTED AGAIN AS OF SEPT. 09, WITH NORVIR, PLU OTHERS. I HOPE I CAN STAY ON THIS ONE AND IT GIVE ME RESULTS.Read More Read Less

I started taking this medicine about a year ago. I am on combination of Intelence, insentress, norvir, and lexiva. I am having the typical side effects: trouble sleeping, sometimes go into deep long sleeps, itching skin. But this has been best this combination I've used and I've tried so many drugs and couldn't take them. My t-cell count has increased signficantly, and I have remained undetachable. It's working great so I am enduring any of the side effects. I am just thankful for solid numbers.Read More Read Less

used it only 2 1/2 month. It made me too sleepy, exhausted. I was taking 3 naps a day, did not want to work any more, felt intoxicated. I love what Kathleen calls it: "JITTERY" Sorry but at this point I am not willing to live like a Zombie and feel miserable just so my Vireal load is undetectable... Off that med and feeling normal again = energetic.

I have only been taking this drug for two weeks as a replacement for Videx which is taking a toll on my liver (apparantly). It's effectiveness I am sure will be good, but I wanted to look into the side effects more, since I am having strange dreams and insomnia. It also makes me very restless. I have started taking it right at bedtime so it hits me after I have already been asleep. I hope that this side effect will diminish, as some of the other drug side effects have in the past.

I have had an AIDS diagnosis for many years. While I've been able to keep my viral load undectable using Fuzeon, my T-Cells have always remained under 200. With my doctor's urging, I dropped the Fuzeon and switched to this drug. I was very scared, but for no reason. My viral load remains undectable and my T-Cells are rising. PLUS, I don't have to inject myself twice per day.

The only thing I have noticed so far (it's only been 2 weeks) is that I am having trouble sleeping.
