Yea! No more periods. I started taking this after starting with Seasonique. You absolutely must take it at the same time every day. I cannot believe that I suffered through horrible PMS and periods all of these years. I was actually pondering a voluntary complete hysterectomy it was getting so bad. Last week I was in my closet and stumbled across my stack of boxes of tampons and pads I used ...

I took this pill for about a month. I was told that I may experience spotting since I started taking mid cycle. I started spotting then bleeding which lasted continuous until I completely stopped this pill. At least 11 days. I agree this pill probably effects people differently. I, however, had horrible side effects. The bleeding was heavy and I had worse cramps than my normal period. I also belie...

I went on Lybrel so that I could stop getting painful periods like I had on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen, which I was previously on for 11 years. It took about 4-5 months for the weird breakthru bleeding to stop. After that, no periods! No cramps, no tampons...it was great. The only disadvantage for me was that I gained about 25 lbs when I first started this medication and I didn't change my lifestyle otherwise. I also started feeling very depressed and fatigued. I'm going to try NuvaRing now and see if that works for me. Read More Read Less

I have been using lybrel for a year in a half and have had only 1 period since i started. In the begging i had spotting once a month for 7-8 days at a time. then slowly it started going away, my skin has cleared, i have no symptoms of PMS or PMDD. I used to get real bad mood swings and would go into temporary depression. All of the sympotoms are now gone, if it wasnt for this pill i would probrablly still be on prozac. The only thing is that you do have to take it every day, do not skip a day. But over all this has been the best birth control that i have been on.Read More Read Less

My doctor put me on Lybrel to eliminate migraines that I started having every month for 5 days at the end of my period. This drug has saved my life! I spotted for 1 month only, and have had no side effects. In fact, I no longer have any PMS symptoms like moodiness, tiredness and cramps. My overall mood level has improved, and it it much more steady. I have not had a migraine since starting Lybrel and I love it!

Despite lots of negative reviews, in December I decided to give Lybrel a try. I have used Loestrin in the same way in the past -- merely skipping the placebos and staring a new pack early. Perhaps it is because of this, but I have had absolutely NO spotting or breakthrough bleeding. I've been very, very happy with Lybrel.

The doctor put me on this rx 9 months for my endometriosis. The first 6 months I bled for three weeks every months with about a week without a period during which time it Ihad severe to moderate horrid cramping. When I called the dr he told me to keep pushing through and prescribed me a pain medication for the "really bad days". In February I started spotting and my breasts got really tender so I thought thatmaybe it wasnt working correctly and I was pregnant, so I took a test and it was positive... my fiance was estatic..... I waited a few days and took another one to find out three tests later that i was indeed NOT pregnant. Ive been off the bc since and now i just get severe random cramps and havent had a period since... now im concerned if the meds really messed me up! I wouldnt reccomend this birth control to my worst enemy!!Read More Read Less

I have been using Lybrel for 6 months. I had no problems with break through bleeding until my third month. First it was light, then I had a full on period for 6 weeks straight!!!! Killer cramps, everything. I called my doctor, they said to stick with it, it should go away. Whatever! It has not stopped. It has lighted up somewhat, but has not stopped, and now I am into my 6 month, and it's still going! This has been three months of putting up with this, and I give up! I have also gained 15lbs since I started this pill. I excerise at a gym 3 or more times a week, eat healthy, do not have a thyroid problem (it was checked), or any other health problems. It is this pill, I am certain, as I take no other medication, and I am a healthy 27 year old. Maybe this pill might work for someone else, but it did not work for me. The whole point of taking it was to NOT have period! The only thing positive I can say about Lybrel is that it has kept my skin very clear, no acne. I am switching to another pill, and will just go back to having a period every month. Read More Read Less

I will say that Lybrel HAS been a saving grace in terms of relieving me from pain from my endometriosis. I have been using it for over 12 months now and I have not suffered from the cyclical pain that I endured for SO many years. HOWEVER- I have had MANY occasions of break-through bleeding. Spotting, yes... but bleeding for weeks at a time. This last time around, I've been bleeding for 6 weeks. Needless to say, I am going to the GYN next monday to switch off of it. I gave my body and the pill 12 months to see if things would change... but it hasn't. Very frustrating.Read More Read Less

This Birth Control was supposed to help me with the number of painful cyst that I have on my ovaries. It is suppose to take away my monthly cycle, However I have experienced Bad head aches and pain in my chest, and over all it is SUPPOSE TO TAKE AWAY you cycle but every since I have started to take it I have had several spottings and several days at a time of bleeding. I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS CONTROL TO ANYONE.

I've only been on Lybrel for three weeks, but have had CONSTANT spotting and some heavier bleeding for two & a half weeks straight. This last week, I've been having VERY frequent stomach cramps. After reading all the horrible reviews on this drug, I am calling first thing in the morning to switch back to tri-cycling with Lo Ovral. My husband and I are still very active and this just isn't worth it!!!

True, Lybrel was easy to take and I didn't get pregnant but that's the only positive thing I have to say. I've been taking this Rx for over 6 months and I kept thinking the heavy discharge and bleeding would go away. No such luck and then when I call my ob/gyn, they tell me people aren't doing well on it. Couldn't they have told me that in the beginning?

I had been tri-cycling with birth control for years because I'm one of the unfortunate people whose cycle was so out of control and painful, I actually would miss full weeks of school/work and have to get pain shots at the doctor's office in some cases.... so for me, the transition to lybrel was VERY easy. I had no spotting since my body was already used to the idea of not having a regular cycle, and I'm extremely happy I made the change :) I love having this freedom, and I love not having to dread the pain and the misery. For some women who only experience mild cramping or normal periods, it might not be for you. Or it might, if you really just want freedom. but for people like me who had doctors tell me it's best if I don't have regular periods, it's a GOD-send!Read More Read Less

I have found this medicine to cause numbness in my feet and legs, sever acne, nonstop bleeding, and depression, and thoughts of suicide(which i've never experienced before.) Even though I have been clinically depressed, and have bi-polar disorder, and extreme anxiety disorder...I still have never thought of suicide, so if anyone has been diagnosed with these things also; I would reconsider this medication.

This is my third oral contraceptive, and since I started 8 months ago, I have had continuous heavy bleeding everyday! There has not been one day of relief. I am just waiting for my new prescription to get filled so I can get away from Lybrel!

I was on Depo injections for 5 years, gained 40+ lbs, and the doc wanted to find me something else. I was scared to be in the kind of pain I was in before I started medication, but SO FAR (1 1/2 mos.), haven't felt a thing. The click case is really nice, but it's a little hard for me to remember to take the pill every day. I had some bad depression/moodiness in the 3rd week, but that seems to have subsided. Hope it keeps working, and maybe I can lose all the Depo weight now!

I have been on different types of oral contraceptives for about 6 years. I have been on a number of different ones, and I can defanitely say that lybrel has been a miracle. I used to get the WORST migranes from the other brands, it got so bad my doctor put me on a migrane med. Eventually, I had enough and went to my gyno, he prescribed me lybrel and I get the migranes occasionally, but nowhere as bad as they were with ortho or the other brands. And the plus side, I get no period! Occasionally, I'll get some cramps, but very mild and rare. I've been on it for about 7months now. No breakthrough bleeding for the first month or two, after that it happened a couple times in the 3rd and 4th months, but nothing since. I think it has been a wonderful drug so far.Read More Read Less

My Dr. prescribed me to be on Lybrel due to my abnormally long/heavy periods/cramps. I have been taking Lybrel for almost a month now and started taking Lybrel during my period. At the end of my last period I have been spotting every single day and just been really frustrated and just hope that it will stop soon. From reading the other reviews I'm not sure if this is the right birth control for me if I am spotting every day. When does the spotting/light flow ends. This is my firt time being on a birth control pill so I guess I will wait and see in my start of my 2nd pack of pills. Read More Read Less

I took one pill of this and within hours was throwing up and having to go to the bathroom at the same time. I have been on a different pill for years and NEVER had this reaction. I was having heat flashes to the point of changing my top. My body did everything it could to get this out of my system! Also caused the most extreme stomach pain. If it works, great, but this was the WORST for me.
