I started early premenopause at 39 and had serious symptoms such as heavy night sweats, hot flashes, insomnia and uncontrollable mood swings. I spent 2 years miserable, until my OBGYN prescribed Divigel. He started me on the 0.05 dose, which right away relieved most symptoms but I still had problems with hot flashes. I have been on 0.1 dose for the past 4 years now and I have no more symptoms. ...
have used twice weekly instead of daily "hot flashes " HAVE SUBSIDED SOMEWHAT

Divigel has worked for the symptoms of menopause, but shortly after starting medication I noticed extreme dry mouth and sinus’. Also, I have tennitus. I am on a pretty high dose of 1.25 per day. Anyone else experiencing these side effects?

I was having terrible night sweats and active bladder during the night. My hot flashes were 2-3 per hour all day, no reprieve, I was timing them like contractions and tried to get things done “in between” out in public. It was crippling. I also noted I was very “aware” of my vagina, irritated feelings there compelled me to start vagifem. That worked wonderfully- however, the product did nothing for my hot flashing. My GP provided me with Divigel .1 on April 1, by the third week I had few to no flashes. Zero at night. I keep a journal and can confirm as of May 1, a month of use I have no night or day flashes. My energy is better, intercourse with moisture and no pain now. I still had aches and pains, but I know that’s just aging and I do remain active to thwart that. I noted the “belly weight” prior to this gel so there is no real increase. My rings are spinning now so perhaps some reduced puffiness. The one side effect which I find annoying HOWEVER tolerable is nasal congestion. I’ll put up with that all day long if it means no more hot flashes. I’d say my mood is absolutely improved as well. Divigel Estradiol gel did not work at all for me. The medication has very poor absorption and it caused me to start having extreme hot flashes again. I do NOT recommend this product I have used Estrogel and also Estro-dot - both products worked well very well for me. I have no idea why Divigel doesn’t absorb properly but when i inquired at my pharmacy, the pharmacist confirmed that this has been an ongoing problem with this particular medicine.

Divigel was transformational. I had a surgical menopause due to endometriosis. For a few months symptoms I had never experienced such as hot flashes, mood swings, imsonia, vaginal atrophy, dry skin, joint pains, and loss of libido all started popping out of nowhere. Then when I took divigel life was normal again. This medicine is a blessing. Due to insurance I was out on the generic, which unwinded a lot of the symptoms in just a few days. Finally back at divigel but fighting with the insurance. We need doctors to believe our loved experiences and the fact that while genetics might work for some, it does not work for all. The switch has been disruptive and we can’t find studies to help the few of us in that bucket. We need help!Read More Read Less

I was using compounded estrogen cream and switched to Divigel due to a lower cost. The amount of product in one package was more than I had been using, although the two products were the same strength. It controlled my symptoms the same as the compounded estrogen, but I gained 8 pounds in 6 weeks! Going to try the estrogen pill and hope this weight goes away.

Divigel has made a huge difference for me. With the 0.25 dose, I still had lots of hot flashes, but not as severe. Two weeks ago, my doctor increased the dose to 0.5 and the hot flashes are nearly gone now. The occasional hot flash I get is now very mild (they had been VERY uncomfortable before I took the gel). I am sleeping better and I have noticed improvement in my mood.

I had CHRONIC UTIs, vaginal dryness, mood swings and hot flashes. Combined with estradiol inserts 3 times a day. My problems subsided 90% after 6 months. Then I started taking antidepressants, because I felt I was still a little off. My condition improved 100%. Hormones and chemical imbalance played big part. Premenopause at 35 and post at 46. Dr. Never listened to my complaints. Until I was precancerous and had emergency hysterectomy. All they said I didnt fit the profile. All, im saying it takes more than a couple of months for it to starts repairing years of lost hormones. With proper care and medication, health will improve.
I tried being off it for 6 months, but once again I was in hell. Read More Read Less

I was prescribed Divigel for low estrogen and fused clitoris. I started gaining weight around the mid section and back even though I exercise regular and clean eating for auto immune protocol. I have Hashimotos. I have to pee all the time. I got really bad stomach ache and a headache so bad I thought I was getting Covid-19. I also have swollen ankles. It also gave me weird dreams and depression and anxiety. I read the ingredients of Divigel and it’s scary. I’m quitting after 27 days. It also made my hot flashes worse.Read More Read Less

I used this in combination with other meds post menopausal. It was not nearly as effective as the daily dose of divigel. And my migraines almost doubled monthly. Hoping divigel has generic very soon.

I'm now 63. Been using Divigel 0.5MG for six years. I've been hypothyroid (low) since about 51, when my periods stopped. I started taking Divigel at age 57 to work along with my thyroid medicine so I can get more energy and less brain fog. It definitely helps with those two problems. I also notice a better mood and more interest in sex. (Estrogen cream in vagina works better.) My doctor says it's likely to help prevent dementia and osteoporosis and this low dose is safe to take for years. When I tried a higher dose, my mood and energy were MUCH better (I was singing in the shower!), but I started getting terrible migraines and breast tenderness, so I went back to the low dose. If I miss 2 days, I'm tired, insanely grumpy, and have hot flashes. Overall, Divigel helps me feel sharp mentally. The progesterone pill at bedtime helps me sleep. I feel like myself again!Read More Read Less

My hot flashes were coming around every hour. I started of the lowest .25 dose and upped it to .5, when the .25 wasnâ??t working after 5 weeks. It does take a couple of months to build in your system. I tried applying it at night but found much better results applying in the AM. I read that is when your body naturally pushes estrogen and then trails off in the PM. After 9 weeks I can honestly say Divigel was life changing for me. Itâ??s great to feel normal again!

This medicine did nothin for me except make me gain weight. My symptoms are the same if not worse than before and I gained 10 pounds. It wasn’t until I saw this site that I realized the likelihood that Divigel was causing my recent weight gain. Stopping this medicine immediately.

I have been on Divigel now for about 7-8 months. It has tremendously helped out my hot flashes. I have also been on 100 mg of progesterone which I recently ran out of. I am still on divigel but notice minor hot flashes again at night and first thing in the morning. Im a little worried about the serious side effects of being on Divigel so I may just go strictly on Progesterone alone. Progesterone helps me sleep and it is supposed to help hot flashes.
