Vyvanse is a new drug on the market the is very similair to Adderall XR. Like any ADHD medication, this drug does raise one's heart rate and will have an affect on one's stomach. Something that I do is open up the capsule and pour the contents into apple sauce. The mixture of the food and the medication makes it a lot easier on the stomach. The common misconception is that you need the capsule, bu...

Story: I had taken 20MGs Vyvanse as a kid for ADHD, it worked great and soon I was the smartest kid in my whole class, eventually it just stopped working around middle school so I stopped taking it, and my grades went back down to being barely passing. Sophomore year in Highschool, I decided to try it again because I was failing all my classes because I could never stay focused in class, I asked m...

My son went from having minimal aggressive issues. After 4 weeks, we went to the doctor and I said that my son was more angry, argumentative, and hostile. The doc asked if this was because of the meds or because he is 15? I said I do not know, but it is a change. 3 weeks later my son has got in his first fight at school and unfortunately caused significant injury to the other child. I believe this is the result of the meds and do not recommend them at all. This will be a fight and I am prepared.Read More Read Less

Since i started this medication its made a huge change in my school work, i'm now more focused, making amazing scores on test's. But there is one problem i have with this medicine is when i take it i can never sleep, i'm always restless i can go to bed but all i do is stare at the wall for hours. And this medicine decreased my appetite dramatically there are times to where i won't eat for a full day sometimes 2 days

I have been taking Vyvanse for about 18 months for ADD. I have had a little bit of weight loss (nice side effect in my case) and a slight amount of restlessness. All of these have leveled off though. In the beginning I did experience the eye twitch but I think it was because my dosage was too high. I got the dosage lowered to 40mg and now I'm golden. I never use to be able to focus on anything for too long, at work or when I was in school. Now I can finish things which is amazing for me. Two of my children have also been diagnosed with ADD, they are on a lower dosage of the medicine and it is working great for them as well. For the first couple of months it takes a little while for your body to adjust, but as long as you talk with your doctor about what you are feeling, he can help. Maybe Vyvanse isn't for everyone, but it is working for us.Read More Read Less

My partner of 8 yrs. decided to lie to his pschiatrist and councellor and say he couldnt focus well in order to be prescribed Vyvanse. The real reason he told me 2 1/2 yrs later was to lose weight. He originally told me that he was taking a drug to counter the effects of the sleep aide Ambian. My life with him has been pure hell! Constant paranoia, constant accusations towards me, auditory hallucinations reapeating himself over and over.! I didnt know the name of this drug at first but found out at christmas 2010. I looked into it and he has displayed a number of side effects. Nothing but one psychotic episode after another and there is NO TALKING OR RATIONALIZING with him. At my insistance he has gone to councellor , changed councellors because he said he was "putting things concerning me in his mind...and none were good" He lies at the drop of a hat. Went with him to psychiatrist and she is dosing him down from 70 mg. I cant take it and at the point of cracking. I cannot see him anymore because of the psychosis and what looks like schizophrenia. Anyone at all on this crap should get off if any ONE side effect shows up and that includes extreme weight loss do to no appetite.Read More Read Less

My 5 yr old grandson took this med for 2 days. The 2nd day about 1 hr after taking the prescribed 20 mg pill, he went into a crying spell, then went into talking & repeating what he was talking about over & over. He does not stutter but was stuttering while he was on this talking binge for 2 straight hrs. I had to distract him to get him to stop rambling from 1 story to the next & repeating himself. He went to visit relatives & stopped rambling as much but continued repeating everything he said & stuttering. I did not give the med to him anymore.Read More Read Less

I used Vyvanse for about 2 monnths and the pills crashed around 11:00 and I would just go into a catatonic state for the rest of the day. I do not recommend this at all.

I was reluctant to do any medication for our 7 year old girl. I believe in Herbs and natural medication if at all possible. Our very first day of using Vvanse our over active girl went into a downward spiral: aggrevated, hand twitching, irritable, migrane headache and most of all emotional wreck over 3 hours of cying non stop. This was scary, the Dr. called back and he switched the medicine and now reluctant to try this new stuff. Be very careful with this medicing I do not recommend it.

My son went from Adderal to Vyvance about 2 weeks ago. 2 days into it he told me he didn't like the way he felt - agrressive & paranoid. He stuck w/it a couple more days. We called the dr. and he went back to Adderall. 2 days later he went psycho. Now he is sitting in a jail cell, hoping for psych treatment. I know there were issues before, but this was appparently enough to make a permanent snap. I have lost my sweet, laidback, "making the customer smile is my thing" son. Please be very careful with this drug. It could change your lives! Read More Read Less

I have ADD and I have always had problems in school until I started taking this. I went from a average c and d student to an all high b's and a's student. I do reccommend this to anyone who has trouble focusing, but I also reccomend starting off on a low dose to see how well it works for you, then higher the dose if you dont feel that it is working.

Works better than Ritalin and Aderall IMO. I get headaches when it wears off though.

Been on this drug for 2 1/2 weeks. 30mg. I have an eye twitch. I also feel wired, but not as focused as I'd like to be. Like I'm on 10 cups of coffee. Have experienced anxiety and irritability, too. I feel as if I should keep taking it and maybe it will start to level off. The eye thing is scarring me, though.

My son started Vyvanse 30mg today. This is the first drug we have tried to treat his attention deficit disorder. He has complained of his heart racing, stomachache, and headache. I have noticed he is highly agitated and nervous to the point that he has bitten off all his fingernails. He also has had little to no appetite. He is usually asleep by 9pm and it is now 11 and he is still awake despite the fact he took his medication at 8:30 this morning. I was against medicating him so this is making my concerns even worse. I will be calling the doctor first thing in the morning and do not plan on giving my son this medicine again.Read More Read Less
