Vyvanse is a new drug on the market the is very similair to Adderall XR. Like any ADHD medication, this drug does raise one's heart rate and will have an affect on one's stomach. Something that I do is open up the capsule and pour the contents into apple sauce. The mixture of the food and the medication makes it a lot easier on the stomach. The common misconception is that you need the capsule, bu...

Story: I had taken 20MGs Vyvanse as a kid for ADHD, it worked great and soon I was the smartest kid in my whole class, eventually it just stopped working around middle school so I stopped taking it, and my grades went back down to being barely passing. Sophomore year in Highschool, I decided to try it again because I was failing all my classes because I could never stay focused in class, I asked m...

My 5 year old son was taking metadate cd but after 3 months it no longered was working for him. The Dr. suggested Vyvanse and the first day I noticed he was very emotional. then day 2 the teacher noticed he was extra emotional. By day 4 she called me and said she thought the medicaiton was not a good fit. It was helping academically but taking away from his cheerful personality.

I have tried many meds. Of all this has worked best for me and no bad side effects. If you take late in day it will be hard to fall asleep. I don't get dizzy and get lows and highs . Helps me focus and stay on task for about 7 to 8 hrs. Others meds I tried made me depressed and tired. This one works best 4 me. So glad I can handle this med with no nasty side effects.

My Son is 7 and we switched him over from Adderall 15mg XR to 30mg of the Vyvanse and he only lasted a week on this medications. He complained of headaches the 1st couple of days. But he was very moody and his anger level was off the charges. We have switched him back to Adderall and adding Intuvi to his medication. Lets hope this helps.

Due to FDA described shortage of dextrostat which was great for +10 years, took Vyvanse 40 mg. No energy, feelings of anxiety, lack of concentration. Maybe dosage is too low.

My son started taking Vyvanse in August. Nausea lasted about two days. He's moody for about 10-15 minutes in the evening when it "wears off". He's not hungry in the middle of the day. He eats well in morning and at dinner (sometimes he wants a 2nd dinner.) He teaches LOVE him. He is so focused during the school day. This has been a LIFE SAVER!!!!!

Vyvanse has been so far, without question, the best ADHD medicine prescribed to me since first being prescribed amphetamines in 2006. In 2006, I was prescribed Adderall 30 mg, b.i.d. It helped with concentration and ability to control certain actions, but it still left me restlessness. Also, my acts of impulsiveness did not go away. In fact, I became more impulsive. I was on Adderall 30 mg, b.i.d. for two years before discussing with my doctor of the restlessness it caused and the feelings of being addicted to it. He then prescribed my Dexedrine spansules 15 mg, b.i.d. I was told that the medication would feel "cleaner" than the Adderall with less side effects. The Dexedrine was a lot cleaner, it didn't have the "dirty" feeling that Adderall brought. Also, since these were spansules, the medication lasted during most of the day. The only problem with the Dexedrine, and again with the Adderall, was that I could tell it was a habit-forming drug. After a year on the Dexedrine, my psychiatrist prescribed me Vyvanse. This was, of course, without question, the perfect ADHD medication. I am currently taking the highest dose allotted, 70 mg, a.m. Vyvanse is very clean, it does not feel dirty, that jittery feeling, and it lasts ALL day long until I ready to go to sleep. It is just one pill to worry about in the morning, and it usually takes about an hour for at least 75% of the medication to kick in. My impulsiveness is at a very controllable levels, my concentration is better than it has ben since my high school years(six years). I am able to concentrate and maintain concentration on work, school, volunteer organizations, household chores. I can even sit down and watch a movie with out any problems staying on focus, keeping up with the dialogue, or problems remaining still. Vyvanse has been one of the medications that has completely changed my life since I started it.Read More Read Less

I am a 46yr old w/f. I have been taking Vyvanse for approx 6 months with great results. I have the ability to focus on the task at hand now,no longer have uncontrollable shopping impulses, etc. I have my "normal life" back! I also have Fibromyalgia - since taking Vyvanse, my Fibro pain has been cut in HALF. Cold weather changes used to leave me unable to perform normal daily routines due to the pain. However, due to the pain relief that I have had since taking this medication has truly given me my life back, especially during winter months. I highly recommend that Fibro patients who are also ADHD speak with their physician regarding Vyvanse as a treatment plan.Read More Read Less

My son has been on this medication going on 5 years now. He is at a dosage of 70 mg. The Vyvanse has been wonderful for him. He can now focus and study without any side effects. He has come a long way and is continuing to improve. As he has gotten older and is more active I have seen such an improvement in his studies. He has 2 years left of high school and he is making A's and B's on his report cards. I would recommend this medication for helping with ADHD issues. It has been wonderful for my son, and he actually eats now! I Love how it has helped him deal with his focus and attention problems.Read More Read Less

I gave this drug to my daughter, who is 6, for 2 weeks. Yes it helped her concentrate a little bit better, but she turned into an agressive, hateful, dope head! She didn't want to play at all, if you looked at her she started screaming and hollering!

I have been taking Vyvanse for over four years now and it has been a "miracle" drug for me! I am a senior who has suffered all my life with ADHD and having tried every other medication known to man (legal, of course), Vyvanse is the only medication that allows me to function at an acceptable level of normalcy. My life, as I know it now, would be in ruins without it!!!! For those of us who use drugs responsibly, the proper medication (which has taken me a lifetime to find, Vyvanse) did work so well as to allow me to experience relief from the extreme effects of Adhd and begin to live life as normally as possible! It may cause some "nausea" for some if taken without food but that is it for me anyway. I highly recommend this medication for extreme cases of ADHD!Read More Read Less

Was on 100mg saw great improvement. At times I felt my brain was racing too fast. Heart rate went into the 100s. Was lowered to 50 mg. worked perfect except my heart rate is still in the 90s even with being on metoprolo 50 mg QD. I would have to have to increase the metoproll to 100mg due to severe tirdness.

I was diagnosed with ADHD at age 28. My doctor started with a low dose of adderrall increased by 5 mg a day until I reached the point where I felt focused, locked in on my work and time seemed to fly by. I reached 20 mg and maintained for 30 days. The results where amazing. I can't believe I went my whole childhood without this diagnoses. Anyways, upon my evaluation my doctor "upgraded" me to vyvanse stating that it has a cleaner smoother release and I should benefit more. The first day I felt like I was on cocaine. I had lock jaw, grinding my teeth and felt like i was high which kept coming and going. I gave it 2 weeks and had to quit. My doctor switched me back to extended release adderrall and I'm symptom free and my ADHD is under control. Read More Read Less

I can focus better and I can get alot more done in my day. How ever I am trying to find something at a health store or over the counter where I can get the same results without having to be dependent on a perscription drug.
