Vyvanse is a new drug on the market the is very similair to Adderall XR. Like any ADHD medication, this drug does raise one's heart rate and will have an affect on one's stomach. Something that I do is open up the capsule and pour the contents into apple sauce. The mixture of the food and the medication makes it a lot easier on the stomach. The common misconception is that you need the capsule, bu...

Story: I had taken 20MGs Vyvanse as a kid for ADHD, it worked great and soon I was the smartest kid in my whole class, eventually it just stopped working around middle school so I stopped taking it, and my grades went back down to being barely passing. Sophomore year in Highschool, I decided to try it again because I was failing all my classes because I could never stay focused in class, I asked m...

My daughter 11year old daughter started on 30mg vyvance about one year ago about 6months ago we increases the dose to 70 mg because 30 mg did not seem to be working as well any more. Now she has mood swings and depression. I think we will explore other options.

Im currently in college and ive been taking vyvanse since my sophomore year in high school. Right now im taking 60mg which I only use on the days I have classes. It works great and does exactly what its suppose to. I think its great to use in highschool but not so much in college. Ill usually take it sometime before noon but then it still either keeps me up all night or Im constantly waking up. Coming off of a 60mg dose with sleepless nights starts to wear me down and increases the side effects of anxiety and depression. So I recommend it but not if your living on your own.Read More Read Less

Before getting prescribed, my schooling results were terrible. I literally made below average grades since I was in 4th grade. I started taking this about a month into my Junior year of high school, and I can honestly say my life has completely turned around. Every quarter since I started taking it has been better than the last. I went from having a 2.1 accumulative GPA from both underclassmen years to now having finished my third quarter with a 4.35. My moods are generally better, it helps me stay awake and alert during school, my appetite is completely unaffected, I have become so interested and attentive to my grades that it's remarkable. Everyone is different, but for me, this drug WORKS. The only side affect is that I lost around 6 pounds when I started taking it, which wasn't a bad thing for me, but may be for someone who doesn't want to lose weight. I would recommend this to everyone and everyone who is interested. Read More Read Less

My 14 yr old started with 20 mg in Sept. Worked great! Attitude was great, concentration and grades great. Inc. to 30 in Oct. it was wearing off too soon (irritable). Never had acne until starting Vyvanse, now it's bad with scarring. 40 in Nov., 50 in Jan. Feb. she started plucking her eyebrows thinner to thinner, almost non left and picking at acne. Backed her down to 40, dr said it was a tic. Noticed she was irritable again in the evenings and harder to get up in the am. She takes her med. an hour before she wakes. Don't know how we are going to handle it. Googled eye brow plucking and it must be common. We need to stop it before it goes further. Read More Read Less

absolutley the worst med i have ever taken. Took it for about 2 yrs, progressively over the two years I lost 25 lbs, became aggressive, impulsive, anxious, and severely depressed. Basically, in a nutshell, I put myself through amphetamine withdrawls every single day. Not fun.

I have been on Vyvanse since I was a freshman in high school, which was about 4 1/2 years ago. This medicine has been a miracle worker for me. It helps me focus on my schoolwork and I get good grades. The only side effect I get is that i'm never hungry. Other than that this is a effective drug in treating ADHD.

I am 28 years old and am in graduate school. I was having trouble concentrating and getting my work done. Also, I have had problems with panic attacks. This med has not increased my anxiety but has increased my ability to sit down and attend to what I am doing. When I began taking it the headaches were pretty bad. But, after a few doses, the headaches subsided. I was having a problem with 'emotional eating' that this med has curbed that, as well. I take regular "breaks" from this med. I find it almost makes me too productive and sometimes just want to sit back and relax. Read More Read Less

I am a physician who was diagnosed with adult ADD 2 years ago.I was subsequently presccribed adderall with rather good results.Recently,i've discovered vyvanse oral and could not be more satisfied. It may simply be the pharmacological make up that I unwittingly grew a resistance to,however a 40 mg dose of vyvanse compared to a 40 mg dose of adderall was quite remarkable.Under the right circumstances and a correct diagnosis, vyvanse is a winner.Concurrent day time sleepiness,at times intolerable has also been curtailed.A big thumbs up from this Doc.Read More Read Less

I am a 48 year old female who was on Vyvanse for 6 months the drug worked great however after 5 months I started getting muscel spasams. My doctor took me off the drug and placed me on ritalin. Ive been on ritalin for 5 months and gained 30 lbs generally groggy and always hungry. When Im not eating Im sleeping.Vyvanse was amuch better drug than Ritalin yet the muscel spasams were scary.
