I have been battling with my Ulcerative Colitis for 4 years now. I started with 6 pills of Asacol. I could not stand taking that many pills in one day. Then I went to Canasa suppositories that was not enough. It was not reaching high enough in my colon to treat the Colitis. Now I have been on Lialda, 4 pills a day, for 1 year. Went off of it and just did the Canasa for 2 years and then went...

This is my first day on this medication. My doctor gave me some samples to try and when I opened the first blister, I smelled a foul odor. I was just wondering if this was normal? Has anyone else experienced this?

I have Crohns. Lialda has cut down my bathroom trips quite a bit. I've been taking it for 2 weeks now. I'm not very good at noticing side effects, but it seems fine

Lialda has worked well for me, but I was wondering if it would cause weight gain? Have other people found this with this medication?

The medicine had no effect on my colitis and it was difficult to use since I live in the bathroom.

I have been living with UC for 11 years now, and have been prescribed everything from asacol to sulfazine. I ALWAYS would skim the area EVERYWHERE for the bathroom, for the " just in case" moments. I started the medication once before, with a great response, but i was way to expensive to buy if not approved under your insurance. So i went to an other medication. Did not have the same effect as the lialda. Have been on it now about a month and really enjoy not having to rush to the bathroom with a thirty second warning. Lialda works for me , hope it works for you too !!Read More Read Less

Just diagnoses w/UC and was put on Lialda (4 pills/day) Although not completely pain free several days later, I feel MUCH better. It is expensive and hopefully I will be able to reduce the dosage soon.

I have had UC for 11 years. I took Asacol for 9 years. Then two years ago my doctor prescribed Lialda. I love it. I feel great.

I'm a very athletic man in my mid-30's when I was struck with inflamatory bowel disease (diarrhea 8-12X/ day) a few months ago. I took lialda for 2 months and it worked great (I was taking 2 pills/ day). One week ago it completely stopped working for me. Now, even though I'm up to 4 pills/ day, it's as if I'm taking nothing. Back to square one. I wish I had some answers. Any ideas? Thanks.

Rowasa to Canasa to Pentasa to Asacol to Lialda. Lialda was working but experienced allergic reaction w/ severe hives after 1 week use and dosage raised to 3 pills at a time..It was the strangest thing. Now on colazol but liada seemed like it was working plus it was a once a day treatment not 3x a day. Hope it works for you. Have had UC for 25 years w/ 1 colon resection.

i find that this is an expensive drug. it seems to be controlling the symptoms. although i am experiencing tiredness and after two weeks on it have had really loose stools but not diaherra. from my reading i am told that this is a side effect. overall i feel better than i did before starting the medicine.

I hate to sound like a commercial, but Lialda gave me my life back! I have UC and was on the toilet 40-60 times a DAY for months and was pretty much trapped in my house and an outcast at work because I spent more time in the bathroom than at my desk! I know where every bathroom is within a 20-mile radius of where I live. Within days of being prescribed it (along with prednisone to "jump-start" things), the attacks stopped, and I've been in remission ever since. I can even give in to my occasional greasy/fatty food cravings and not worry about being on the toilet the next day! I can't recommend Lialda enough!Read More Read Less

Although I don't have the urge to go as often as when I was having my flare up this drug did not heal my ulcers and I have moderate joint pain, am easily tired (not usual for me) and occassional feverish feelings. During my previous flare up (3 yrs ago) my Doctor put me on Asacol and my sympthoms disappeared almost immediately and it healed my ulcers within 2 months time. One big draw back was once I was on my 3rd month of taking Asacol I started having memory loss so I stopped taking the med and was fine for 3 more years. Requesting my Doctor put me back on Asacol or a similar medicine without the memory loss.Read More Read Less

I have been using this for 2 weeks now. I was on Asacol but my hair was falling out. My hair is still falling out and I have had some extra bruising. Anyone else have these problems?
