Taking 3 mg, switching to 6 in a couple days. Seems to help stop the talking, but the figures are still present. Still paranoid, still having negative symptoms. Not as agitated as before, but still easily agitated from little things. Still get confused. Haven't noticed any weight gain that can't be attributed to the holidays. Makes me kind of sleepy a couple hours after I take it, but if I'm kept busy and thinking and moving, I don't fall asleep. We'll see how it goes on 6 mg.

This drug has effectively treated my mania and has seemed to have given me some balance and clarity psychologically. I'm not paranoid and my thoughts are not racing at all. I was on abilify, and I went out of the range of abilify and fell into a manic phase for several months. To say the least it was horrible. My current doctor put me on invega and I like the fact that I seem to be more sound and not manic or paranoid. However, now I am very sluggish and lazy. I feel depressed and I have gained a lot of weight. My body just seems to me weighed down all the time. I also easily get indigestion now. I am also lacking focus and have a terrible time doing basic tasks like getting dressed of doing the laundry. I take it in the morning along with an anti-anxiety medication. I'm going to talk to my doctor about all of the side effects that I am experiencing to see if there is another medicine out there for me. It would be great if I could find a drug that gave me the balance and clarity of invega and the pep that I got from abilify. I had no weight gain when I was on abilify. Read More Read Less

I was given invega because of racing thoughts and anxiety. I have tried many things on the market and none have helped effectively. I had to stop invega because I had a severe adverse reaction to it... My legs swelled up horribly. It took me a bit to figure out it was from the pill but as soon as I found out it was from the pill I stopped taking it and a few days later the swelling went away. I have never had an adverse reaction to a medication until now. It was scary!!

i took 3mg. then 6mg. for total of 4mo. I went to my gynocologist because I was lactating and he immed. ordered a brain MRI. I now have a pituitary tumor (prolactinoma). I had prolactin lvls. of 89.6 while on Invega, dropping to 5.2 after only 2 weeks off it. No one told me that this could happen, even info on the net didn't mention this. I also am on Metformin now because of the high blood sugar s/e, now permanent. I had Tardive Dyskenesia in hands; it went away. I have permanent sun sensitivity. Obviously, for me, the benefits didn't outweigh the risks. I have changed doctors, part of the problem, and now take Lamictal. I have had no s/e and it is working good. I guess I'm one of the people that Invega DIDN"T work for!Read More Read Less

My daughter has taken Invega for about 2 years now for anxiety/OCD related to her genetic syndrome. Has worked better than Abilify and almost as well as Risperdal. No change in the weight gain, however, so added Vyvanse to counteract. This combination is working fairly well, but we are going to pursue other options (specifically SAMe) because of the side effects and level of medication she is on.

I have been taking 6mg for about 3 months for bi-polar. Mood swings have pretty much gone away all together. However I do experience sexual side effects including difficulty having an orgasm and a major decrease in semen.

At the higher dose of 6mg Invega broke atypical psycotic episode quickly. 3mg did not break psycotic state. 6mg side effect medication over medicated lethargy generally sleeping daily 12 to 15 hours. It also caused weight gain 15 lbs. and increased apetite. Depressed feeling from knowing that I had once again broken from reality and feeling of despair lessoning as time passes. Because I suffer from progressive MS my loss of wake time contributes to worsening of Multiple Sclerosis symptoms, I can not take this medication with out changing the other medications I am taking or stopping this medication completely. I wish that this medicine could have come in a 4mg dose.Read More Read Less

I have been on invega for about 6 months. For a while I was taking 3mg then the dr. increased to 6mg due to some moody behaviors I still had however I have gained a lot of weight taking this medicine though I don't eat that much. It causes hypothyroidism I found out from my new medical doctor. I am going to go back to Geodon and see if I improve or need both meds.

I'm bipolar 11 and I have noticed a big difference like many others very quickly, like the first week. I'm also an alcoholic (bad one) Since I've been on Invega I can't hardly drink. I still try but it stops the buzz and after 6 or 7 drinks I just stop. I hope this continues. I haven't read any where that this could help with alcoholism.

I have been on 3mg for 3 weeks now. It seems to be helping my manic episodes cycle faster and my aggressiveness toward others has been decreased. I guess it's ok. I will know more when my dosage gets increased next week to 6mg. Since my psychiatrist is able to provide me with samples and it replaced the Geodon I was taking, which also costs a fortune. I will continue but have some fears in reagard to the numerous side effects this drug presents. I have noticed a severe increase in joint and muscle pain and stiffness in my body. I will write an update next month.Read More Read Less

I have gained about 5 pounds taking it. Other than that I have had a good overall reaction to this medication compared to the evilness of Geodon.

I have only been taking Invega for 1 wk now, at 6 mg. The side effect that I am experiencing is that I pop up awake at 5am, and bouts of depression. Not sure why or if this side effect will taper off. But I am considering discontinue taking it. I have just heard good thing about this drug.
