I am 16 years old and i decided to go on this birth control because i have been with my boyfriend for almost a year and a half and i dont trust condoms. none of my friends were ever on this birth control so i knew nothing about it. i saw the commerical and 4 periods a year sounded good to me so i asked my doctor if i could go on it and she said yes. it was the day before i was going to go on the b...

You know why this is effective birth control? Because while you are on it you bleed constantly, are perpetually bloated, have no sex drive, and have a vagina as dry as the Sahara. If this sounds good to you, order it up!

I love this BC!!!! At 14 I had several cramps and mood swings as well as heavy and irregular periods. I tried many different forms of birth control with out success. My first 3 months on Seasonique I did have some of the common side effects (breakthrough bleeding, mood swings, cramps) and even called my doctor to switch me to something else. She encouraged my to stay on it for 6 months and I did. I started at age 23, and am now 29 and I still love it. No periods, no mood swings, no breakthrough bleeding or cramps (unless I miss a day -then it's 3 days of misery, but that's why I'm on it.) I would highly recommend people try this drug and give it time. Also keep in mind everyone's biochemistry is different, so don't just dismiss something because it didn't work for someone else.Read More Read Less

I've been on this birth control for the past five weeks. Every day, I've had light bleeding (enough to where I had to use panty liners). Apparently, this is "normal." Fine. What isn't normal is the HORRIBLE mood swings. I'm a pretty happy-go-lucky person and now, my fifth week in, I'm borderline depressed. I don't want to do anything I normally loved doing. I want to sleep all the time. I'm EXHAUSTED all the time. If anyone even looks at me, I want to claw their eyes out. And recently, I've noticed some hair loss. For me, Seasonique did NOT work and I'm stopping tonight. Four-periods-a-year be damned. I'd rather have my period every month than go through this. Good bye, hormone-based birth control!Read More Read Less

I've been on Seasonique for about 6 or 7 years, since i was a teenager because of my really heavy cycles which lead to me being Anemic and its a great product but since I've started using it, clots from my menstrual cycle have been too large for me to believe it, and no I'm not talking about the size of a coin but the size of my fist sometimes, it doesn't always happen but this year I'm going to try out a new product because of this and the fact that even though the pill prevents you from having your period, my last two packages of Seasonique actually made me go on my period at the end of the first months' pills. I'm not sure if this only happens to my body because I started my cycle when I was 9 years old and even then it was heavy so whoever is just like me, take my advice and just try it out and see if it works out for you. Thanks :) Read More Read Less

The purpose for me taking this medication was to stop my periods to stop the endometriosis tissue growth since I'm not ready to have kids yet. I began taking this medication in August (about 5 months ago), and during the first 3 months pack, I had my period for a total of 5 weeks. The nurse told me that irregular periods were common in the first couple of months, and to give it at least through the end of the second pack. It's now January 10th, and I've had my period since November 8th- some days its heavy, somedays its so light I think it might stop- but never does. I have an appt scheduled with my doctor in a couple of days to talk about other options, but this has definitely not worked for me. I've had headaches and fatigue from being anemic, I've been very moody, and I just don't feel like myself on it at all. It may work for some people, but I would rather not take anything than keep feeling this kind of miserable. Read More Read Less

Seasonique helped with my acne, but made me moody. It made my hair very oily to the point where I would have to wash it twice a day. I had daily headaches and had cramping when I wasn't on my period. I bled for the first month straight! I did not find this medication very helpful for me.

I have been on Seasonique for a year now and I am getting off of it. My experience has not been too good. The first 3 months were not good and it got better. However, in the last two months, I've experienced daily spotting and severe acne. It also made me really moody! I will be trying Apri, using it for 3 months in a row to skip my periods. Hopefully it will work well...

Great pill!! This was the first one I have taken and didn't have any noticeable side effects. I was on it for about a little over a year but I'm going off it now just because my health plan doesn't cover it, and 125$ for bc isn't cheap! I was bad at taking the pill, and still never got pregnant! I wouldn't recommend that route but just incase you miss a pill or two, don't worry.

Every birth control is different for every different person. I love this BC. During my very first pack I did get the 2 week period. My doctor said I was fine. I never had any problems with bleeding afterwards. However, my period tends to start on Thursday of the placebo pills and last only 4 days. Overall love it! The only downside is never having tampons with never having my period! I always forget to shop for them. Or if you buy the big boxes then they last for a year.

I was very please with this pill. I have been on it for 3-5 years now. I am 28 and I am noticing that I am having more side effects then normal. I have horrible mood swing, ovary pain that comes and goes, acne, always tired and weak and bad eating habbits. I am going to stop taking this pill.

Great benefit of only having your period once every 3 months. However, when I have had my period my cramps were a bit intense. Similar when I went into labor. Crazy. Then on the 6th month I had spotting for a full week straight prior to my period. Two weeks of period is no fun. Weight gain and acne double negatives.

I was prescribed seasonique by by OB/GYN. i asked what the side effects were and she said the normal birth control effects but usually people don't have many side effects if any. i thought ok, this will be a good bc since i have taken ortho tricyclen and used nuva ring before. i was on the pill for a little over a week and started geting panic attacks, migraines (which i already suffer from chronic migraine), depression, anxiety, appitite increase that lead to gaining 10 lbs in 3 weeks (i had just lost that 10 lbs. recently), crying for no reason, feeling like im worthless. so i called my dr when i started week two of the pills to tell her about the side effects i had, she told me to discontinue the bc. it has been 2 weeks since i've stopped taking it, and i am still getting irregular migraines, panic attacks, gaining more weight, appitite increase, depression and still crying for no reason. this is a horrible birth control, at least for me. please read reviews and listen to them. i feel like its going to be a while before i get to being "me" again. I began this birth control 3 weeks before my wedding, because I couldn't get a doctors appointment earlier and didn't want to start another type of birth control that would give me my period on my wedding/honeymoon. This was the first birth control I have ever been on, and it's been great for me! I take it at night, and the odd time I'd wake up at night I would be nauseous - but I didn't experience any nausea during the day. I woke up once or twice a night for the first few weeks. My first period lasted 11 days, and I didn't experience any spotting or breakthrough bleeding until 5 weeks later when I would normally get my period (I had really long cycles before I started BC). That period lasted two weeks! I've had more gas then normal while on this birth control. My breasts have been slightly tender, and did increase in size (but I don't mind that at all!). I've gained a few pounds since I started, but I think that was just from eating a lot and lazing around on my honeymoon. The only reason I might consider changing is because it wasn't covered under my insurance as its a newer birth control. It came to $25/month without coverage. Overall I am really satisfied with this birth control!Read More Read Less

WORST birth control ever. I've taken nuva ring and ortho tri cyclen low, and they were better that seasonique. I've been taking it for two and a half weeks and have had constant spotting the whole time. Save yourself the trouble and take another brand that can be used in the same mannor. Totally not worth it to be on birth control if your having your period for three months. Called doc and they said it could take up to three months. NO THANKYOU! I hope this was helpful.

I have been taking this birth control for about 5 or so years. I am 21 years old. I mostly wrote this review to tell the people crying that they bleed for a long time on it, that once you stick that out for a bit, it gets better and you don't spot like ever. So I think all the spotting I went through, to be worth it. Because I am period free for 3 months all because I stuck out the spotting in between periods. Trust me girls, i bled for months straight too in the beginning. I decided to stick it out and i am happy that I did. The only other thing is that I noticed my periods are a bit heavier than they were when I was younger. But im not really sure if it has to do with the birthcontrol. Read More Read Less

At age 26 as a thin, athletic, non-smoker this product gave me a stroke. My face was sunken for a month, and I still do not have feeling (hot, cold, pain, or pleasure) on my left side from my waist to my toes. DO NOT TAKE SEASONIQUE. It gives you 2x the dose of many other birth control pills and thins you blood vessels. Stroke risk is not just if you are 35 or a smoker!

I just finished my second, three-month pack. I did experience spotting during the third month of the first pack, almost on a daily basis. It was a thick, dark secretion, not real bloody. My scheduled period on the first pack was about 3 days of heavy bleeding (changing my tampon every two hours), then stopped. I had no spotting during the second pack. I'm currently on the "yellow" pill week of the second pack and have started my scheduled bleeding. Cramps are about the same as without, but I really enjoy not having periods every month. I think if you stick with it, take it as directed, it gets easier. You body has to get used to it. We'll see how this period goes. I don't mind the 3 days of heavy bleeding, compared to 5-7 days of lighter flow every month (more of a hassle). Read More Read Less
