You know why this is effective birth control? Because while you are on it you bleed constantly, are perpetually bloated, have no sex drive, and have a vagina as dry as the Sahara. If this sounds good to you, order it up!

So I am a 17 year old girl who honestly frequently is not on time with each and every pill. I stared taking seasonique on November 1st, 2015 because I have heavy bleeding when my periods occur. Since that day I have bled (a little lighter than normally but nothing too significant) until this day (December 7th, 2015) which is a MONTH AND A WEEK OF BLEEDING. I now have ANEMIA from bleeding for so long. I DO NOT RECCOMEND this birth control pill due to my horrible experience with it. I apologize about the excessive over-capitalization, it was just for all you skim-readers out there. Read More Read Less

At first I used a birth control that would regulate my period, so I still would get it every month. But still, it didn't seem to fully help my long and heavy period and spotting all month. When my doctor prescribed me Seasonique it took away all my symptoms of a heavy period. I have no spotting, but as long as you follow the directions and take it regularly it helps. If you aren't good at remembering taking pills, or always seems to skip them this isn't for you. I'd suggest a birth control injection you get every 3 months at the doctor, since you would be taking this drug daily for months at a time. Read More Read Less

?it so far. Yes, I've had breakthrough bleeding; but nothing I cannot deal with. One persons side effects should not sway your decision. I've had severe migraines since the age of 10, I'm sure age is a factor also, but I have not had more or any worse headaches. I've not had weight gain or mood swings. I believe each individual is different & some may benefit from this medication where others may not. I am one who has, I'm very glad my Dr tried me on it.

After trying a few different oral birth control options, this is without a doubt the one I will be sticking with. I hesitated at first, daunted at the idea of only having a period every three months. However after developing horrible cystic acne on Junel, I finally made the switch. Within two weeks my cystic acne became much less severe, and a few months later I now have no new breakouts. My periods are light accompanied with some cramping, but I've always had moderately painful periods. I've experienced zero side effects other than some minimal breast tenderness, it's been wonderful. I've been taking Seasonique for about 9 months. I anticipated there being a few months of side effects while adjusting, so I stuck it out for as long as I could. During the first 3 months, I LOVED it- no spotting, no period for 3 months, no major side effects. During my second pack, I noticed SEVERE mood swings and depression (especially during month 2). The kind of mood swings where you start bawling mid-day at work and literally can't stop until you go to sleep. Other than that, I really liked Seasonique. Every birth control has side effects, you just have to decide which ones are deal breakers for you. For me, depression is a major deal breaker. I am planning to try a new BC method next month. I've been taking this BC for about 3 months now and I've experienced light to moderate bleeding for a little over 6 weeks. Very frustrating. Discussed the issue with my Dr. and she stated to at least continue the first full three months because apparently occasional bleeding can be typical when starting a new BC method. I too have had moderate mood swings but nothing to really complain about. Haven't had acne issues or loss of hair while taking this pill. I will complete the first 3 months of taking this but after that, if the bleeding doesn't stop, I'm not returning to this pill again. Instead, I'll try a different method.Read More Read Less

I started this on July 18th to help with endometriosis. I started with spotting on August 16th. That lasted for a few weeks and I've pretty much had a period since. What I compare to day 3 of my period. The pain that goes along with it hasn't gotten any better. I spoke to my doctor and was told to stick it out and was prescribed Tylenol with Codeine which doesn't really do anything. I'd rather have 1-2 days of a heavy flow and excrutiating pain then weeks of this.

I have been on it for 3 years, i absolutely love it. Now if i do miss to many pills which happened only once due to losing it, I had a small period other than that, I have a regular period every 3 months, and nothing in between. Its amazing when you don't have to worry about anything.

So far our of all the birth controll methods I've used I like this one the best. I was on depo for about 7 years and haven't had my period for that amount of time. I switched to yaz and still hadn't gotten my period (I was about 20 when I switched) when I switched again I switched to seasonique when I was 23/24. I now have my period every 3 months with minimal spotting in between and my cramps have gotten so much better. I don't get pmsy any more and my over all mood has improved.

I was given the generic brand of Seasonique called Daysee by my pharmacy (insurance would not cover the name brand unless my doctor specified I had to have it.) I expected to have some side-effects, but I figured anything had to be better than the debilitating pain associated with endo. Well, I guess perhaps I was wrong. To give you an idea of what I was going through before. Just after my period, I'd feel great--for a few days, then I would get endo flares at ovulation, which consisted of stabbing pains in the rectum and vagina, and achy cramps in the lower abdomen and lower back, and also constipation due to pain, and stomach aches due to constipation. These pains would last for several days to a week. Then I'd get PMS, which left me feeling headachey, sick to my stomach and EXTREMELY moody. A couple of days before my period came it would be a crap shoot as to how much pain I would be in. I'd get the same symptoms as I did during ovulation, but they were normally much, much worse. I was usually out of commission, lying in a ball in the fetal position with a heating pad for 5-7 days, as my uterus felt as though it were being ripped from my body. My doctor recommended continuous birth control to repress my periods and hopefully help with the pain. Like I said, I expected side effects, but I did not expect SO MANY or for them to get continuously worse. My experience went like this: First two weeks: Nausea and headaches. Week three: Achy cramps and 2 cup increase in breast cup size, with extreme tenderness. Week four: week three's symptoms plus zero sex drive. Week five-six: same as week three, minus the achy cramping, but plus severe moodiness and depression. Week seven though present (approx week 9): Large, sore breasts, moderate to severe cramping, spotting (enough to need to wear a pad at all times) with clots, depression, bad endo flare. Obviously, this drug is not for me. My Dr has recommended a new BC that she is hoping will fit better.Read More Read Less

I've been taking this for 5 years. I have cysts on my overies that cause severe cramping, fatigue, vomiting and most of all pain. This stopped me from living a normal life. Missing days upon days of work, planning events around my cycle.when I first started this pill it took a whole 3 months of the pills for my body to accept it. I experienced heavy bleeding, spotting and weight gain. After 6 months my periods were extremely light. Had to use panty liners vs tampons. I never have cramping any more. Never get sick. I have a period 3 times a year. This has been the best thing that ever happened to me. Anyone who is having a hard time just starting out PLEASE give it time. After 6 months or so eveythibg will go back to normal. Except your period! You won't mind having it anymore!!!Read More Read Less

My doctor prescribed Seasonique to help with my unbelievably awful menstrual cramps. Ever since I have been taking this drug I have been experiencing cramps all day everyday, breakouts, terrible bloating, and breast size increase. (Not totally complaining about breast size increase but I don't fit in my bras anymore.) It has NOT been fun. I got on this to stop these symptoms but it made them worse! My tummy has never stuck out like this before, nor have I ever had a pepperoni face. So you can only imagine that it's putting a major damper on my self esteem. (Just what a hormonal girl needs.) This is the worst bc experience I've ever had! It work wonderfully for the first month but soon after it the spotting came. I knew I was going to have spotting, but this was not normal. It was like I was on my period every day for 2 months! I also became very depressed and had some weight gain. I will never take this again!!!!!!

I suppose the medication has been effective since I haven't gotten pregnant but the side effects are awful. I have never had a depressed day in my life and I cry over stupid things and get moody for no reason. To top it off I have had a period for the last month. I'm not talking just spotting, a full period with cramps everyday and breakouts! I changed back to ortho tricylen lo yesterday and I hope it doesn't take to long for me to stop having these side effects!

I was prescribed this pill for my endometriosis. It's been 9 days and for 5 of those days I have had borderline suicidal depression, heart palpitations, severe mood swings and stomach cramping. I have PTSD so the emotional reaction is being exacerbated by that. Still, I can't live like this especially when a partial hysterectomy is what I actually want to do. I now have to adjust my psychiatric medication to recover from this experience until my hormone levels normalize a bit.

The first 2 weeks were great. The third week I started spotting. Then after a week it turned into full blown period w/ horrible cramps. 3 weeks of this and I'm SO DONE. I called my dr. and he said it's normal and to stay with it. My face looks like a teenager and I've gained 5 lbs with this. Don't recommend this!

This kind of birth control has not reacted well with my body. I was first on LoSeasonique for 7 months, bled thru 5 of them. Switched to Seasonique and the first two months were okay but I've gained weight, I'm very moody, and felt a lot of cramping. A week into my third month I started spotting. Some days were heavier than others. When I got to my period week, it was heavy and so, so painful! Like the ones I had before I went on any birth control pill. I will be switching back to a 24-day cycle soon.Read More Read Less
