This medication worked right away but the side effect are ghastly! They are very annoying when you feel like you are going to puke on a daily basis. I also had issues with heat while on it, if I was over heated I was worse but once I turned on a fan, I felt better. You feel all around cruddy but at least the UTI is gone!!

Uti was cleared up. But after 2 days could feel my lungs everytime I took a breath. Felt like I was coming down with breathing infection. Lasted for months. I will never take this again.

Daughter has been on this for 2 days now, so far she seems to be taking fine (3 times daily). So far this medication has caused spit up/vomiting.

This medicine has floored me. I have never been so sick in my life. I tend to UTI's about once a year so am used to the side effects of the illness. This drug has made me so ill, constant vomiting, blurred vision, no appetite, flu symptoms and I can't sleep. I think Doctor's should make patients aware of these horrific side effects. I took the tablets back to my Pharmacist and he even said to me, I don't how you managed three days taking them. If he had been working that day when I put my prescription in, he would've warned me. I have experienced difficulty breathing, tightness in chest, headache and have totally wiped me out of all energy. I am a high energy person and these symptoms are rarely experienced by me! Took as prescribed with food. I wish I had read these reviews before taking. I was ready to go into ER this morning. Urinary tract hasn't improved.

I cannot caution against this medication strongly enough. After just 2 doses, I landed in the ER with what was determined to be inflammation in my lungs. I went from suffering from a UTI to, shortly after the second dose, developing a deep, dry cough. Soon thereafter, I started having trouble breathing, very similar to the feeling I had with pnuemonia ~5 years ago. Within hours, I had to have a friend drive me to the ER where I underwent blood and urine tests as well as CT scans of my chest, abdomen and pelvis. This medicine caused me to go into anaphylactic shock. I could not breathe, could not walk, my face became swollen and I had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Did not cure my UTI. Had to take it twice daily with food at exact times. Used Walgreens clinic, now I can't reach them to get a new prescription that works. No one answers the phone "due to high call volume" and then the recording pretty much says "good-bye". What kind of care is this? Was prescribed Nitrofurantoin Mono/Mac 100 mg caps twice daily for five days. It didn't change my urine color.

I first took this medication for 5 days. After a couple days of stopping the medicine, my UTI was back. I was put on another medication for 10 days, but after that it was like it hadn't touched it at all. I was then put back on this medicine for ten days, twice a day. I have had terrible headaches, nausea, loose bowels, difficulty concentrating, excessive urination at some points, fever like symptoms, my face would get red a little, I would ache in my lower abdomen and that is just the beginning. Having this UTI has been a total nightmare. I'm not sure this medicine is the best option and by the looks of the reviews, other people have had the same issues. This medication is the worst thing I have ever taken. I ended up in the hospital this after taking only two pills. I cannot believe that any doctor would prescribe this med. to any human. I have never felt so sick in my life. Fever, aches and pains swollen lips is was horrible. Please do your research first.

I wrote a review recently for this drug and said i felt really bad side effects. Before i kept taking the pills ive had a big meal and now am NOT experiencing side effects. I only feel a little tired but all the nausea, weakness, fever and chills have gone. I HIGHLY recommend you eat a big meal BEFORE taking the pill it will help a lot!! My treatment is 100mg twice a day for 7 days. I'll update once im done with treatment. For now pain is almost gone and urges to pee have diminished a lot.

I just started treatment but im having a lot of nausea, i feel weak and feel like a fever is starting. I hope i get better though.

my UTI pain was gone on the first day, but by the 3rd day I woke up with a huge cold sores on my lips. I still have 4 days left

I have only taken 2 pills, every 12 hrs, and I have very loose stools. Need to call my doctor first thing in the morning. I can drink water but seems to go right through me. I am also burping and it has the smell of rotten eggs. This is scary stuff if you ask me.

Horrible medication, side effects are worse than UTI. I should of done my research before taking it.

Took only one capsule due to the time of day they were prescribed , the infection was bad enough but this medication is the devil I had the worst night I have had in years fever / nausea / aches you name it .

i am 19 weeks pregnant and got prescribed this by my midwife after a urine sample. i didnt know i had one and still dont. however since taking this medication ive felt so sick, and have bad headaches, and very tired. ive only took 1 dose so far and i was sick for the first time my whole pregnancy shortly after. i feel crappy!!

I have a UTI for 9 year going to 10 and I taken this medicine all my life, it's like my life is owned by this medicine cause every night I have to take it I am 14 year old taking this medicine and this medicine help me I have Hinman Syndrome I have to live with this pain of my bladder problem and scared that if I don't take this medicine I will die. For me taking it by mouth it's alright but, 8 years with this medicine taking the same every single day it gets annoying sometimes my body doesn't except it and I understand all my life I took this medicine! It sometimes get stuck in my throat and I just had the sickening feeling of taking this medicine but I have to take it and thank God that they have medicine to stop it even though this medicine has my life on the line I'm happy I take it! You get dizzy at times and I gotten rather tired of it but I'm just glad that we have medicine to live on and survive. The people that don't take it they get more Ill or die! Not sure why this has so much bad reviews. I have chronic UTIs for about 4 years. This drug has always helped me. I used to wait a couple days and the UTI would get worse before I took the antibiotic, and it would relieve it by the 3rd day. I felt fine. I know now when I'm going to have it, and I drink a lot of water and coco juice. If it doesn't help, I call my doctor immediately so that it won't get worse. I take the antibiotic and it goes away. No side effects for me. I take it and eat food and drink lots of liquids.Read More Read Less

I would NEVER take this drug again, period! The side effects of chills, fever, nauseousness were worse than any flu I have ever had. I have had four previous U T I ,s and was prescribed different medications, the last two being Cipro, which were all effective but with no adverse side effects.
