Worse reaction ever... Dizziness, Ringing in the ears, nauseated, TERRIBLE migraine, feeling confused, exhaustion...the list goes on. Pharmacists said the medicine could NOT cause any of these side effects. Well guess what, IT DID! I started the Medicine before bed - 1 tab. next day 2 tabs. Day 3 and 4 I took 1 tab because the issues were very bad. I quit all together day 5 and called the doctor. Doctor changed the medicine out for Ciprofloxacin. Will not start taking it until the next morning.

Extreme pain and shaking through entire body, very weak and tired, then came the lung/chest pain and non stop cough.

Horrible drug. Mood swings and stomach ache. Metallic taste started day 2 and I still have it 3 weeks later.

Culture showed bacteria was a strain of E. Coli resistant to sulfa based antibiotic so doctor prescribed this drug. So far so good on day 3 of 5. I take with food, minor side effects. This drug dates back to 1950s. Iâ??ve had severe side effects with other antibiotics and am thankful this works. Iâ??m not sure 5 days is effective dosage since this drug inhibits growth but doesnâ??t kill bacteria. 7-10 days seems more reasonable to me. I drink plenty of clear liquids for hydration, flush the system, and help drug do its job. Hope this helps anyone struggling while using this medication.Read More Read Less

This is only my second day, but the pressure and frequency feeling have subsided. My urine is darker, am drinking water and doing ok..not much of an appetite, just hope after ??5 days it will be gone.

DO NOT take this if you are allergic to sulfa drugs. I only took for two days and I had a severe allergic reaction to this medicine. My eyes started turning black/purple....looked like I had not slept in weeks. Chills so bad my teeth chattered and my entire body was shaking. Excruciating body aches all over my body, as if my muscles were being ripped out of my body and I started having a horrible dry hacking cough along with trouble breathing. These reactions lasted for three days after I stopped taking the pill. Also, the palms of my hands were really rough and peeling. After months of trying to figure out my uti symptoms but negative tests. My Gino diagnosed it as Entercoccosos. This drugs seemed to cure it with no side effects. I have sulphate abs peneviin sllwrgies

Took this twice a day for 5 days for a moderate UTI. After about 36 hours taking it I was symptom free. The day after I finished the ull round prescribed I had symptoms again. This is the second time I’ve tried this drug to treat a UTI and both times this has happened. It never fully cures the infection.

I started taking this medication on Monday by Wednesday I had a severe rash on my stomach and around my chest. If you are given these tablets then check daily for any problems with a red rash on your skin.

This is my second UTI in 4 weeks the first UTI I got three days into it and I got flu like symptoms and could not keep anything down so I stopped taking the medication and I was sick for about 8 days total a week later my UTI came back and of course they prescribe the same antibiotic and of course I came down with flu-like symptoms again only this time I went to Urgent Care and they said I did not have the flu and wondered if it was my UTI that was causing my illness and then in conversation my husband mentioned I wonder if you're having a reaction to the drug and then I came on this site and I was absolutely shocked everything these people have said happened to me headache fever chills nausea body aches loss of appetite and it's going on and on tomorrow I'm going back to you Urgent Care and I'm heading my antibiotic changed I will never take this againRead More Read Less

i will never use this again! my hair is falling out!

I have M.S. and Myasthna Travis and Lung issues. This medication has just about taken me out. I can hardly walk and I get spasms plus severe cough is a breath normal. Have to take shallow breaths. STAY AWAY from this medication.

Been taking it for three days think it's cured my UTI but have had fever,headache and abit of nausea. Fever is the worst

Just like everyone else, I've had side effects that include vomiting, nausea and a nasty after taste that's left in your mouth. But the frequent urination has at least went away. I still have six days to complete (I was issued a ten day regimen).. and I'm hoping this icky feeling goes away.

I had a severe reaction to this medicine. I got chills, aching all over and ran a fever. I did not take any more pills after the first day due to the reaction to the medication.

Horrible! Only 3 doses in and I had migraines, nausea and a bad taste in my mouth. I will never take this again!

This medication has a lot of bad reviews, but it worked pretty well for me. I began taking it without additional probiotic supplements for the first 3 doses, and it upset my stomach a lot. Taking the medication with an additional dose of probiotic capsules at a mealtime does wonders and I had no side effects. They're kind of expensive (probiotics) ~$25 a bottle, but avoiding awful side effects is worth it.

This was a HORRIBLE experience! I had severe muscle pain, migraines, sore throat, and coughing up a lot of mucus. DO NOT take this drug! It will make your life LIVING HELL!!! I'm telling you, find another option. I took this for 5 days and I literally thought I was going to die. Nasty stuff!!
