Oh, so much easier on the body than Bactrim! Only issue is a headache if I don't stay hydrated enough. Water/Gatorade/water and take w/ milk and life is good.

I had been on this by my doctor by phone, I have used them for 5days, and had horrible side effects , rigors, shivers breathless and very unsteady. I had also headaches and palpations, I went back t to the dr today say I really can't carry on with side effects,when I picked my prescription, the reception said the Dr wanted a sou.That was on Monday, as I said went to the Dr, and she said stopped the tablets, and asked do I need something else, she said no, there is no infection in the bladder, they had my sou on Monday why didn't call and tell me to stop the med. something went astray "but I would have nothing to do with this drug again. This capsule should never be on the market. I feel as if I have been poisoned. Really bad headaches, feeling sick, no appetite, shivering and sweats, and no energy. A rash has appeared on my upper arms and small spots on my lower arms. I am ready to change doctors at this point as I don't think I want to be treated by anyone who would prescribe this medication.

My husband is very pale, has traumatic brain injury and dementia and kidney disease. Have no clue why they gave it to him. he is sicker of this drug then he was before and he has a urinary catheter. Or docs nuts........Or am I with in a county that has under educated doctors..... I will go to king county from now on.

Felt worse after taking, found out few days later the U/A was negitive, probably false due to taking otc pyridium (after asking nurse if it was ok), took too long to get an appointment. ??possible flu or maybe just exhaustion or bad side effects. Fever, chills, diahhrea, fatigue, total exhaustion,, rash, stopped taking.

On day four and no side effects, no extra fatigue. Too early to see if working to prevent infections.

Some shortness of breath & fatigue.

Two pills- severe headache- projectile vomiting. I was ready to go to the emergency room in the middle of the night. I think this is a dangerous drug.

I took this medicine 1 day by the evening I had fever which was followed the next day with breathing problems, severe headaches, pounding heartbeat,fatigue, muscle weakness,and nausea, which I still have 3 days later. I will NEVER use this again

After the 7 day I started getting ill. Headache (severe), chills, fever (102), then hot. Tonight I broke out in a rash on both legs, bottom of feet and both arms. Very severe rash and I am miserable. This drug is not worth what I have been through. Will never ever take this again. (if I survive).

Before taking this medication I was in hospital on morphine for the pain every 2-3 months... It makes me tired and nauseated however, it worked for me. I take an anti nausea drug with it and no more yuk... I take it every day and wouldn't be without it!

It appears my husband has had the same negative reaction to this drug as others have. Flaming red area, esp around groin, headaches, fatigue.He stopped using & went to lab for test to see if infection is gone. If not, he'll have to call our GP (this was prescribed by his Urologist who he reported his problem to.)

I've never had side effects from a medication. But with this, I had severe dizziness, nausea, chills, fever and rash. Plus, my original infection isn't even gone! I would never take this again.

This medication made me feel like I had the flu. I had to quit after 3 pills/ 1 and a half days. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. I would check with your doctor to see if there is another wide spectrum antibiotic.

Broke out in a rash and started itching all over. My doctor told me it wa an allergic reaction and so I quit taking it. It stayed in my system for a very long time and continued to cause the problem to a lesser degree.

The antibiotic works well, and I've been taking it for a week. The most prominent symptom would have to be fatigue, but if you have a strong immune system, the other symptoms will be less likely to appear. Definitely take as recommended with a meal to better prevent any nausea or other such symptoms from appearing. The antibiotic is effective, so there's no need to worry about symptoms when you know you want to get well soon. I am having extreme nausea, chills, and fatigue with this medication. The nausea and fatigue are really impacting my life and of those around me. I cannot walk around or do anything for over 15 minutes before I feel like vomiting and need to lie down. I am only on the 4th day of this medication and feel like I am as sick as I was before. I don't think I would ever take this medication again.

Was prescribed this for a bad UTI. It seemed to work, and got rid of my symptoms within a day or two. I am on day 10 and still doing well. So far so good. !

I took this medication for 10 days. I do not have anymore kidney pain. I took this medication one other time and did not do well on it. I told the doctor I would try it again. I had headaches every day after the 2nd day. I also developed swelling and redness in both of my legs. They look and feel like I have a severe sunburn. They hurt really bad. I already had peripheral nerve pain in my feet from one of the chemo drugs I took for breast cancer. Now that is extremely worse. I had to gfo off of one of my RA drugs to take this medication. So now I am in pain with that. I start it back today. I had to have blood work yesterday to make sure my liver did not have any toxins from the medicine. Second day after starting on nitrofurantoin 100 MG I had a fever,chills,aches,pains and no appetite. Thinking I had the flu, I just rode it out, I thought. Five days into taking this medication I could not walk when I got out of bed for the first few steps as I had sharp pains from my ankles to my knees. Its been 12 days since I stopped the medication and I am exhausted,shaky and have a swollen ankle. I do not recommend this medication
