Had upper respiratory infection with a cough. I had severe cough with wheezing, especially at bedtime. The wheezing sounded like two cats fighting. It would keep me awake at night and I couldn't get any restful sleep. My doctor subscribed Benzonatate 100mg to take 3 times a day. After the first capsule I no longer wheezed and finally was able to get serious sleep. My opinion is it help me heal much quicker. I did research the med and was glad it is non-narcotic. Went to urgent care, tested positive for Covid. Allergic to dextromethorphan so they prescribed me this. Took it and I’m literally coughing considerably more often and the coughs are harsher. Lungs hurt now and throat feels even more painful and slightly itchy. Wish I had never taken it.

As a nurse, I tried it once when I had a severe bronchitis after noticing it helped my patients. It was the best help at reducing my cough while I had bronchitis! Now, whenever I get severe cough I request it from my doctor. A great medication for severe cough.

Small easy to swallow capsules but did nothing for my cough.

It took 2-3 doses before I started to feel the true effectiveness of the medication. OTC cough medicine wasn’t helping so I went to the doctor and was prescribed this medicine. I was finally able to sleep and get rest. Coughing fits returned when the 8 hours was up and I took next dose and it helped. Only downside is I got really constipated. It didn’t subside until I stopped taking the medication.

Did nothing for my cough. It made me faint from low blood pressure.

Benzonatate it absolutely does nothing for cough. It made my symptoms worse.

This stuff works great. Was having trouble sleeping because I had a stuffy nose and when I slept on my back, it would drip and cause coughing fits. This stuff stopped the coughs and I could get a good night sleep. Only problem was insurance would not cover this as according to them a bottle of Robutustin works just as well,

Worthless. Was prescribed this for bronchitis. It did nothing, so I bought some Nyquil instead and slept in peace.

like many patients listed in reviews, a upper respiratory infection had me coughing so hard that I was gagging and throwing up. Dr gave me the cough pearls and warned me that for some people it works and some not. I thought I was a "not" person the first 24 hours but the night cough really started to ease off and I did get some sleep. I have to say yes it did help. I have been coughing for 6 days. Today i got this medicine hoping I was going to sleep well. Not happening. Why won't these doctors listen to you when you tell them what you need to help your cough in their office. Anyway a friend brought over some Hydro something that really worked. Slept very comfortable and rested. NO COUGH!!! My friend should be a doctor.

Coughing for over 11 days. Sinusitis turned into bronchitis. It’s been 6 days and no relief from cough yet. Doctor finally Rx cough syrup and told me to cease the Benoznatate. Gladly!

Able to stop my coughing and I could finally sleep! What a relief. I found it within a few minutes after taking it I was fast asleep it really helped.

I've been taking it for a couple of days, the cough is still so bad, I can hardly sleep or work (I work in a school where I have to talk, a lot!) I'm taking it as directed. I am on the third full day; I'm supposed to be taking it for 10. I may as well down a bottle of NyQuill!

This is a miracle pill. It worked wonders for me. I was at wits end coughing uncontrollably . I could feel the inflammation in my airway. My ribs were so sore. 15 mins after taking this pill my coughing stopped completely. I' m so grateful to be one of the lucky ones.

Prescribed at Walk-in Clinic. I only went because I was recently diagnosed with Glaucoma and my OTC med (that’s worked in the past) indicated not to take if you have Glaucoma. This medication had the opposite effect of what is indicated, ie didn’t make me drowsy, but instead I became more agitated/restless. My cough didn’t subside and my sinusitis seemed to have gotten worse. I was anxious and nauseous. I took it for 7 days (3 days less than prescribed) and after I stopped taking it, I already started feeling much better and my nose is not stuffed and I am not anxious or nauseous. Read More Read Less
