I am the worlds worst when it comes to taking new medicine. It took me almost 2 weeks to get up the nerve to actually swallow this pill because I was so scared of the side effects. I am so glad that I did..It has helped me tremendously. The first couple of days were alittle rough adjusting to the side effects. But they were really no worse than what I was already experiencing..Jittery, nervous,agi...

The problem I have been having with this is drug is that I often get vertigo when I drink alcohol. I have been on the drug for 2 years and during that time span, it's probably happened 10 times. The morning after I have had a drink or two, I will wake up in bed with the room spinning violently, feeling like I have been slammed onto the floor, and I have to get up and stumble dizzily to the bathroom in order to get sick. My doctor said that you can still drink while taking this medication, but that it will increase the effects of alcohol- so you feel drunker on less booze. However, the vertigo has increased ever since I increased my dosage to recover from S.A.D. Now, I've woken up with vertigo twice in the past week. I think I need to not drink any alcohol for a couple weeks to see if it gets better. However, I am glad that I started taking it, because Bupropion has been very helpful in treating my depression and has allowed me to do better at work, as well as given me the energy to pursue the things I know I want out of life.Read More Read Less

So far, so good. The only side effect I have had is a headache that feels like I have a vice on my head, very tight. But if that's all I have to go through to get better, no problem. I definately reccomend this drug.

I was put on this twice a day pill at 100mg per tablet back in November and at first I had a severe reaction to it ie. nightmares, racing thoughts that lead to severe anxiety attacks at night, insomnia, headaches and nausea. Within about 5 or 6 weeks these side effects subsided and I felt much better. My doctor presribed a sleeping aid with it as well which helped with the insomnia. I was able to wean myself off the sleeping aid after two months and have only had a few bouts of insomnia since. The weight loss, increased sex drive and overall feeling of well being have been worth toughing my way through the side effects in the beginning. I was on prozac for two years before this drug and I am most definitely thankful I switched to buproprion sr.Read More Read Less

I have only taken this drug for a few days. I cannot say I am satisfied yet. The first day I took it I had nightmares all night. And for the past few days I have not been able to sleep very well. I wake up a few times a night and it is very hard to go back to sleep. I wake up very early now. I hope this gets better, it is suppose to be for my anxiety and I am praying it works.

I was on wellbutrin on two different occasions [not sure why I got off the first time]. It generally worked well for me, though I recommend starting on a low dose and gradually working your way up to help minimize the side effects. I found it to be much better than the SSRI's as I tend to be sensitive to the sexual side effects and prone to weight gain. I generally felt good on wellbutrin and it didn't sedate me like so many others. The problem I noticed was that I was suddenly having trouble with receding gums. My hormones are changing and I told myself it must be related to that. However, I remembered that I started to have difficulty the first time I was on it, but then no further problems after I had gotten off of it. But once I was back on it, my dental exams had gone downhill drastically. Coincidence? It seemed unlikely that it would be related to this drug. Yes, it causes dry mouth, but receding gums? I haven't found anything about this in all of my research. Still, it seemed pretty drastic a change since I got back on it. I listened to my intuition and got off of it. I went from needing "deep cleanings" every couple of mos. to regular cleanings every six mos. and things have stabilized. Hmmmm....Read More Read Less

I had bad side effects on this med. I was suprised because I never had an allergic reaction before to any meds. 3 weeks into taking it I got a horrible rash, hives, and when i swallowe even liquid it hurt.didn't realize it was a side effect. also didn't sleep well, felt spacey,& heavy sweating in sleep.Stopped the meds 2 weeks ago, still have very itchy sensitive skin which I'm taking benadryl all the time and very sleepy. How long does it take for this bupropion to get out of my system? I think I'll just use the nicotine patch and do some yoga. Read More Read Less

I have tried so many meds for my depression, and finally I found one that works with no sexual side effects. In fact, I've experienced very few side effects. It works for me in every way.

I am using this medication to treat PMDD. Since my menstrual cycle was not ver regular, my doctor is having me take the medication every day. The first week was rough. I kept waking up in the middle of the night and then I was not able to fall back asleep very easily. I kept taking it and eventually I slept all night long and seemed to sleep much better than I had been. I also had a slight/dull headache for the first couple weeks while taking the medication. It gradually went away. I am satisfied with the end result so far.Read More Read Less

I asked my doctor to put me on this to help with the depression I was feeling after I lost my mother. I was always either so sad that I could barely function, or I was angry and screaming at everyone! When I first started this med I had severe headaches every day, and had a lot of trouble sleeping at night (waking up about every hour). But those side-effects went away after about 3 weeks. I'm glad I stuck it out because I'm feeling so much better now. I'm still sad and a little angry that I've lost my mother, but the mood swings have disappeared. It's also helped me lose weight & although I haven't quit smoking, I only smoke about half as much.Read More Read Less

I started this drug about 3 weeks ago. I've had every symptom on the list aside from vomitting. I thought it was alright for awhile, but it's giving me panic attacks, and I can't concentrate at work. This is the first antidepressant I've tried, I was hoping it would be the last, but I'm thinking about trying something different because the depression hasn't really gone away and the side effects are horribly intense.

My doctor put me on this medication after I complained of feeling depressed on zoloft after taking it for 2 years. I was experiencing weight gain, memory loss, fatigue, and extreme tiredness, making me a candidate for hypothyroidism. I had the tests and the doctor said he would like them to be twice as high as they were for "my condition" so he put me on wellbutrin. I really have no idea why he didnt give me thyroid meds. Ive been on this drug for 3 weeks and it worsened some conditions but made some worse. I feel like my body is ready is ready to go in the morning with a rush of energy, but i can barely stay awake after getting up. My memory loss has worsened dramatically. I can not hold a thought for more than 5 minutes. My hands and body seem to weaken randomly and begin shaking like crazy. I am going to an endocrinologist tomorrow to see what he says. The symptoms of this drug can make some people worse then better in the end. Read More Read Less

I didn't think it was working until I stopped taking it! No noticable side effects or big changes, just smoothes out the ups & downs
