I am the worlds worst when it comes to taking new medicine. It took me almost 2 weeks to get up the nerve to actually swallow this pill because I was so scared of the side effects. I am so glad that I did..It has helped me tremendously. The first couple of days were alittle rough adjusting to the side effects. But they were really no worse than what I was already experiencing..Jittery, nervous,agi...

I have been taking this drug off and on for abouta month a half. I seemed to notice cravings for sweets at first and didnt think it was working so doc switched me to Lexapro. It seemed like it was working but couldnt sleep so asked to get off that. He put me back on Bupripion and I was noticing the weight gain and increased appetite again. I have gained weight and am not happy about that at all. Does anyone think that the brand would be better?

I've been of Wellbutrin for six years and the drug store started giving me this, which I thought was fine because it's cheap. But don't settle for this S***! If you can, get back on the real stuff! It creates more side effects than......... well i don't even know what. I am a mess.

I was put on Bupropion to help me quit smoking. Within a day I was sick, dizzy, confused and just felt helpless. I was caught by my family putting the gargae in the fridge! I continued to take it for 7 days at which time I thought I was going crazy. Immeditaly stopped per the doctors orders only to feel more confusion. Withdrawl I was told. I will try to quit smoking on my own. BTW - did happen to cut back on the amount I smoked during this time but think it was from being sick.

I was 24 when I began taking wellbutrin. It saved my life. When the SR and XL came out, I was switched to those and continued to do well. Now that BCBS won't pay except for generic, I went on Budeprion and had to double the dosage to get the same effectiveness. I never had panic attacks before but they started and I thought they were due to birth control pills I began taking to deal with bleeding problems. THEN, I did mail order and they gave me BUPROPION (not Budeprion) - it went rapidly downhill from there to the point where thoughts of harming myself occurred for the 1st time in years. Realized they gave me even the wrong generic - note the syllables - had to call my doc, the insurance, cuz it would've been $125. Still having problems with insurance cuz of mail order - never gonna do that again! I still have problems with any generic and wish the brand name was affordable. They shouldn't play with people's lives - generics are not as effective! Read More Read Less

I asked to be put on Wellbutrin because I had read the horrible reviews of Chantix, as well as talked to a few people I knew who it didn't work for. My doctor told me to quit within a week of taking it, but I read in multiple sources that you could quit after taking it for up to two weeks. I quit after taking it for two weeks, and up to that point I had no problem cutting back from 1 pack a day to the day before I quit, only 2 cigarettes the whole day. Today makes 2 weeks that I haven't smoked a cigarette, and I don't really miss anything, have any cravings or withdrawal symptoms, and found that I don't even really need the nicotine lozenges I bought. Additionally, I have experienced an overall feeling of better health, and I think that I am benefitting from the drug in other ways. I am considering asking to be kept on this medication, the results are really great. I haven't noticed a single side effect that I can directly contribute to the drug. I have been and will continue to recommend it to anyone who wants to quit smoking...IT WORKS!!!Read More Read Less

I take both Wellbutrin/Citalopram and Buproprion so it's hard to tell about Burproprion alone, but I seem to feel OK.

The same day I started taking this medicine I started sleepwalking. One night I was looking around my living room for my kids, the next night I was cleaning the bathroom! This when on for 3 weeks. My husband started to hide the car keys at night so I wouldn't drive anywhere! I was having bad nightmares too. My doctor told me she didn't think this was a side effect but a few days after she took me off it I no longer had nightmares or sleepwalking. If you can't take actual wellbutrin I don't suggest taking this as a replacement! Read More Read Less

Started taking Wellbutrin XL and was very satisfied. Depression was 'much' better. Ater about a year I noticed that the depression was getting bad again. Found out that my insurance company had my pharmacy substitute this new wellbutrin generic. It DOES NOT work. After getting back on the real wellbutrin I starting feeling better again. A few months later I began feeling bad again and, sure enough, my insurance company had done it again. I now have to make sure that my doctor writes "do not substitute". It cost me more but is so worth it. Bupropion should be FLUSHED.Read More Read Less

I have been taking this medication for just over two weeks now. As directed I took the med and smoked for about a week. As the week went on the cigarettes started to taste horrible and just didn't satisfy me the way they used to. To date I have had no negative side effects but have had a few good ones. I feel better, I have more energy and my mood has improved. The meds have defiantly helped with quitting smoking. I still have a craving flash every now and then but overall the medication has done what it's supposed to do.Read More Read Less

I was on Wellbutrin XL 150mg twice a day doing great. Now comes the generic and I have to take 300mg once a day. I get heavy anxiety, shakes, sweats, irritable, stressed, it just sucks. I feel like crap. I asked my doctor to switch me back and the insurance company says they will not cover the Wellbutrin only the generic. This sucks! I do not feel like myself at all.

I was on this about 2 years ago and quit. Mistake. I thought i would try some more natural paths like exercise, eating well, homeopathic remedys, vitamins, etc. but to no avail. However i'm a yoga instructor now! I got progressively worse to the point that it nearly distroyed my fiance' and it had wrecked a few other relationships in its wake. I had become this evil person, with anger, agression, short temper, and violent at times, which all was very unlike me. So before it destoyrd me, we went back to my doc and got a once a day 300mg. Just 2 days of it now, and i can feel me comiing back slowly. I hold the hope that i can repair the dammages.Read More Read Less

I think perhaps this drug is causing my hair to thin...and I am extremely concerned, as otherwise the drug has helped me. Is there any other drug that helps with depression, helps with energy level and NO hair thining?

I have been taking wellbutrin xl almost a yr now. Last month switched to this generic brand, w/in 1 wk, I began starting having chest pain, irregular heart beats, palpatations, Rapid heart rates. Took a month to realize it was the change in brands after 2 hospital visits and being scared half to death.

I have been taking this for 3 months and i have just started noticing that i am getting tremmers in my hands. So the doctor is taking me off it and switching me to cymbalta. Other than that is has been working great for me i wish i wasnt getting the tremmers as i am not looking forward to the change. I have been taking the 150 mg and the doctor just said to not take 2 a day just one for 3 days and then switch to the other it has been 2 days and no problems yet.

I started on this medication 6 months ago to quit smoking. I felt such an improvement in my mood and disposition that I asked my doctor to let me keep taking it even though I have already quit smoking. I think the reason why it was so hard for me to stay off smoking was because I was self-medicating my depression symptoms with nicotine. I don't miss it a bit now. The first day I took this medication I had vivid dreams that were somewhat sexual. I have had an increase in sexual desire since starting it but I don't know if it's the medication or the relief of depression that is the cause. I get an occasional headache that lasts for a few seconds and goes away. These are rare about 4 or 5 times a week. It does make my mouth dry and I relieve that by chewing sugarless gum or eating sugarless lifesavers. I have had no change in my weight or eating habits, I am not trying to gain or lose weight. I have had a huge increase in my energy and ability to organize my time. My depression was causing me to be lethargic and disinterested and I did not realize it. Occasionally I have trouble sleeping on this medication but I do not feel tired during the day. I have not had any problem with drinking alcohol while taking it. Overall I give it 5 stars and would recommend it for mild depression.Read More Read Less
