My family Doc noticed my ugly, thick, yellow toenails during a routine physical. He asked me if I would mind taking a Lamisil tablet once daily for one month to have normal nails again. I was ecstatic, hoping that I could once again wear sandals in public. After finishing the meds, I noticed that my toenails were changing back to normal. Today they are the same as when I was a teenager! But wait, ...

i have had toenail problems for nearly 20 years but started 10 years ago in my fingernails, yuck, just finished my 3 month regimen a week ago. so far i am very happy with my results. i was on the generic, and only had some mild loss of taste, which led to a few lost pounds. if my nails were completely grown out and the results i have had are continued i will give this 5 stars across the board. i would use this again, provided there has been no real damage to my liver. after 3 months 4 out of 5 of my infected fingernails has nearly fully grown out with just a bit of nasty left at the tips, toes are a little slower going but we shall see, so far i am completely satisfied, and may soon be able to extend my hand for a handshake without trying to hide my fingers.Read More Read Less

Extrememly allergic. Within a week of first taking medication, I was covered from scalp to ankles with blisters and irrated skin. The extreme itching and burning was horrible. Left skin terribly burned, lost top layer, similar to a first and second degree burn. It has been three weeks and the condition is beginning to heal. My doctor prescribed a steriod, benedryl and bath with Aveeno bath wash. Aveeno Lotions are also helpful. This product is terrible for me, I will never recommend it. Read More Read Less

After a month and a half of taking this medication I have the same side effects as many of the others who have posted a review. Loss of taste, appetite, weak, dizzy. I am a diabetic and can't afford to give up eating altogether. I am going to stop taking it before I continue to get weaker. This is not a good treatment for me.

I have taken the generic for 2 months and my toenails have almost cleared completely but have now started to itch. My next 30 day treatment would be after 30 days off. My Dr did tell me if I wore any of the shoes I had worn when I had the nail fungus I would get it again. He said the only thing to do would be was to get rid of them (all shoes I had worn) or to try to use a foot spray to treat the inside. He said he knew it wasn't something women wanted to hear but the fungus would continue to live in the shoes because of the moisture from our feet even in sandals. And to stay away from nail salons that I didn't know very well and that didn't have very high state health scores. Read More Read Less

I have been taking this drug now for 7 weeks so far all I have is extreme gas 24/7 no other effects. I have had toenail fungus for 15 years and never could afford to treat it. I don't know how long this takes to work but on the toe that was the worst nothing the one with minor infection almost gone. Still have all my taste and all other things just wish the diarreah and gas would leave. If this doesn't work I will not take it again. Just doesn't seem to be worth the risk a second time. I am on the generic version of this drug.Read More Read Less

I had very bad toenail fungus on my left foot. The bottom of my foot was very dry. After about two weeks of being on the drug my foot was very smooth. It took about a 5 months for the toe nails to start looking good. As far as side effects go not sure if I ever had any. I had an occasion stomach pain.

I'm not sure if this medication has anything to do with what happened to me the other night or not... My husband and I were at a resturant and I began very dizzy, upset stomach and I passed out. It was very scary... I was lucky one of the waiters is also a nurse. They calmed me down and my husband took me home. Now 2 days later I am feeling somewhat better... but still having stomach issues. This has never happened to me before. Could it be the Lamisil?

I had darkening toe nails that looked very unattractive. Me wife made me see the doctor for to see if there was something that could help. I did not want to use medication because of possible side efects.I must say after 3 months I see tremedous results and finished taking the meds orally. It should continue to work over time.My 12yr. old daugther had nail fungus also, she used the meds before I did and she is very happy with the results of the meds.

My husband has been taking this drug for 2 weeks now and he has broke out in a very scary rash of welts all over his body! It's not worth it to us after reading all these other experiences, most of the users seem to have had more side effects than anything. I'd rather keep my husband around with toenail fungus than have him loose his sense of taste, etc... He has a doctors appt. today.

I am a health professional and I knew what to expect when I started the medication. I had bad toe nails for years and I lived with it. Then the fungus started in my finger nails. Can't have that. I had some loose stools and some loss of tast/appetite, but it was managable.

SueB016 - how long ago did you stop the lamisil that you still have the rash? I stopped 3 days ago and still have the rash. I sent a Medreport to the FDA. This med is scary and dangerous after all I've found people's posting and serious side effects. They do not even sell this drug in Europe due to dangers.

I took this medication for a couple of weeks and developed a very itchy rash all over my torso, arms & legs. I stopped taking the meds and I continue to have the rash. This medicine's benefits do not outweigh the side effects. Be cautious when choosing this medicine over alternative treatments.

I've been on this medication for 2 weeks and woke up two days ago with a really bad rash on my feet, legs and trunk. After reading here, I think the rash is from the lamisil. At first I thought it was a reaction to food while eating out. Does anyone know how long it will take for the rash to go away? Also have had a stinging sensation on my tongue.

My husband has been taking this drug for 8 weeks and he has been feeling horrible the entire time! Dizzy, nausea, headache and now his eyes are starting to bother him. Definately not a good drug to take.
