Prescribed for an infection, swelling in my teeth prior to extraction. After 5 pills (300mg ea.)I woke up with severe diahhrea & cramps. Called dentist & told to take 2 pills instead of 3 per day. If not better to discontinue.

This is an update to my original post (below). I've changed my statisfaction rating after reviewing everything I've suffered through, being treated for what they thought I might have (later learned that Dentist prescribed on poor judgement)I WOULD NEVER TAKE THIS MEDICATION AGAIN. NOR WOULD I RECOMMEND ANYONE TAKING IT UNLESS IT WAS DETRIMENTAL TO YOUR HEALTH TO DO SO. My immune system has been utterly compromised so much so, that I am still dealing with lingering side effects. I was in such poor health after taking this medication, I could barely work. I lost 15 pounds in ten days. My bones feel brittle, my muscles are always sore and fatigued. When my general practitioner learned I'd been on two types of antibiotics prior to this one and a steroid combo he nearly sh*t his pants! I love him, he knows me better than my mother. I was put on a strict diet and treated with only natural and homeopathic medicine. The diareah that lasted three weeks stopped within days. Now i'm rebuilding my immunity and blood health. People, there may not always be natural alternatives for meds or treatments but you owe it to yourself to know for sure. Read More Read Less

Experienced immediate severe heartburn followed by chest pain after swallowing either food or liquids lasting several days after one treatment of 4 capsules. Also experienced extra gas resulting in burping that was also painful.

Endodontist started me on Clindamycin for an dental abscess. It has caused severe stomach cramping, diarrhea and a horrible metallic taste in my mouth. I have discontinued it due to the extreme side effects.

This medication has caused severe diarrhea, bloody stools, cramping and loss of taste. I discontinued use over three weeks ago. I am going to have a colonoscopy in three days. I have only been able to tolerate clear liquids. I have lost control of my bowels.

this anitbiotic caused severe abdominal pain, in my case. I would absolutely NOT recommend it's use, especially if you have any stomach issues, like acid reflux.

Oral surgeon prescribed due to infection around barely erupted wisdom tooth. Eased the infection but was troublesome to my stomach, appetite, etc. Had cramping and upset stomach no matter how I took it. Infection returned one+ week after exhausting first supply. Back on it again and positive effect is taking longer this time.

woke up 1 1/2 hours after I took it with really bad drymouth and just a touch of anxiety with slight sweating. It kind of scared me at first as I am a diabetic and I thought I was having a drug reaction but within the hour the anxiety passed but the dry mouth remained so I just kept sipping water

Used to treat a severe infection in teeth...possible abseces. Pain was so bad my head was constantly throbbing. Had to put off going to dentist until after the new year due to money and time off needed from work. So far so good.

I was prescribed this drug to fight off a tonsil infection. It gave me immediate relief in the first 3 days while causing a few sore stomach pain (nausea, indigestion). I still had white spots on my right tonsil, but the infection completly disappeared after 7 complete days of taking the medication.

oral infection prior to teeth extraction. i have developed thrush on my tongue,i can handle that to an over infected mouth. was worried about its effect on bowels,but i had worse episodes from eating Taco Bell

I was bitten by a pitbull and the dr gave me this + another antibiotic to fight off the infection. I haven't felt sick, but i have had what feels like a tension headache for the past 2 days.

Kept the infection down but it gave me bad nausea and headache along with low grade fever.

no matter what I tried it made me vomit for hours.

My gf was taking this post-sinus surgery to prevent infection. About a week after she started taking, she had nausea, diarrhea, vomitting (all of which are side effects) and a fever of 100.5 degrees. It is unlikely this is due to a stomach bug as she has not been out of the house since her surgery. The doctor told her to stop taking it and I am praing that she gets to feeling better. She has been through too much already.

reduced my immune system whiling taking drug causing me to have a prolonged bout with a cold and flu.

i am taking this medication for post foot surgery for which i have external fixators to prevent infection in the bone and surrounding areas. i am happy with the results overall, however i do have some gastric burning if i don't take it with food. otherwise i am very satisfied with the results of keeping the risk for infection to a bare minimum.

PRESCRIBED TO ME AFTER COMPLICATIONS WITH AN EXTRACTION OF AN IMPACTED WISDOM TOOTH. WAS TAKING AMOXYCILLIN PRIOR TO SURGERY TO TREAT STREP, PENECILLIN DIRECTLY AFTER SURGERY AND CLINDAMYCIN 3 DAYS AFTER SURGERY WHEN SWELLING HAD GOTTEN WORSE. ALONG WITH METHYLPREDNISOLONE I GOT ALMOST INSTANT RESULTS AND CONTINUES TO GET BETTER. IT DOES CREATE A BURNING SENSATION SO I AVOID TAKING LATE AT NIGHT AND ALWAYS WITH FOOD. OTHER THAN THAT I BELIEVE IT WILL BE EFFECTIVE.

I was given this drug for an infection after having a wisdom tooth removed. I had a really bad allergic reaction to it. It was awful!

THIS DRUG WAS FOR A TOOTH INFECTION UNTIL I COULD GET TO MY DENTIST. IT MADE SWALLOWING SO DIFFICULT. ONCE I WAS AT THE END OF THE TIME TO TAKE ANOTHER I WAS GOOD BUT ONCE I TOOK IT THEN IT STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN. NEVER FINISHED TAKING AFTER DAY 1
