This medication works well with minimal side effects. It mutes the pain levels down to a point where you can concentrate on daily activities without feeling "drugged".... There are two very important points to this medication that cannot be ignored without side effects. Overdosage: From all the blogs I've found, overdosage often results in sleeplessness. Headaches and stomach cramps are a...

I only gave one star, because iv never taken this medication. ( yet) Celebrex 200 mg for a year, I can get out of bed and be somewhat normal, but have not walk more then 50 yards without pain. ( L4-L5-S1-Hip problems) nine injectings over the three years all NSADS, PT twice. Can this be taken with Celebrex? Has anyone taken both together?

I have been taking for 1 week for back and neck pain due to an injury and rotator cuff injury. Helped with the spine pain but not the neck or arm pain. Very dissasified. Causes insomnia and terrible headaches. I have tried alot of pain meds with no luck. I am allergic to codiene type meds, thought this was my wonder drug but is not. I take 50mg. every 6 hours but i will not take anymore.

pain relief equal to Ibuprophen and\ not as harsh on stomach---it also seems to actually be mildly mood lifting--no euphoria. I'm really concerned about the addiction danger.

I have two different types of arthritis, I was prescribed this medication for pain relief. The first day I took the medication I was drowsy somewhat but still had severe pain; I was suppose to take the medication every 6 hours and I waited 7 and 1/2 hrs before I took my next dose. After taking the 2nd dose I got severely drowsy and then I blacked out, I felt paralyzed; I remember thinking to myself, I hope I don't stop breathing because I was having difficulty breathing. Then the next day came I started having pain, I contacted my doctors office talked with a nurse she advised me to split the 59MG tab in half and take every three hours, I did what she said and I had hallucinations and don't really remember anything that I did. I do not recommend this drug at all, it terrified me.Read More Read Less

While the pain was taken totally away with this drug (it took 3 Vicodin to do the same), I ended up having a severe reaction to it (extreme nausea, lethargy, weakness, and light headedness) to the point where I thought it safer to be taken off of it. My orthopedic surgeon agreed and put me back onto Vicodin, which is a lot less effective at higher doses. I wish that I didn't have the reaction I did, as it is the only drug that relieves my pain in my knee. I shouldn't have this kind of pain in my knee, so I am seeing the surgeon on Tuesday to discuss other treatment options. My advice: be careful when trying new drugs, as sometimes you can have a bad reaction after the drug accumulates in your system for a while. Take it exactly as prescribed, as this is a very powerful drug.Read More Read Less

pain relief is quite good, but the recommended dose keeps me awake.my work is such that opiates must be taken at work's end; hard enough that sleep is welcome.

I was given a prescription several years ago and it did not help with my torn rotator cuff. Since then I was diagnosed with a degenerative spine. Again this sad medication as prescribed with a plea that I give it a "real try". It still does not work. (I can take up to 300 mg a day.) I can't wait for the end of the week when I can get a real pain killer.

I started taking Ultram (Tramadol is the generic) for neck and shoulder pain from an accident. I'm allergic to all codiene type pain relievers (stomach ache and itchy rash). I'm allowed 1 to 3 Tramadol per day, but I usually take one with two Tylenol before I go to sleep at night. It actually makes me a little drowsier at bedtime, but I can take it during the day with no drowsiness problem. I understand that Tramadol helps me "perceive" my pain differently and it works. I have read that it can act like an antidepressent for some people, which may be my case, as my pain is relieved and I'm feeling great.Read More Read Less

I was prescribed Ultram in the ER for an abscessed tooth. This medicaton's side effect was a temporary hearing loss concurrently with a feeling similar to being knocked out with nitrous oxide(laughing gas). I was at work when this occurred and had to warn my co workers of my possible hearing loss, spaceyness. It was a horrifying experience I didn't think it would give me "opiate like SE's. I ended up throwing the meds down the toilet. Hopefully that won't harm the water supply.

I was prescribed Ultram 50mg q4h following an appendectomy. This medication did absolutely nothing for me. Two hours after my first dose I was still in such severe pain that I had to have IV morphine. It was easy to take, just a pill, but did absolutely nothing for the pain.

VERY intense back pain and crisis, followed by massive critical back surgery. Take as low dosage as possible (100 mg daily) and combine with Advil. Goal to allow healing and it is working. HAVE A VERY HIGH PAIN TOLERANCE AND ANTI-DRUG PATIENT- BUT THIS WORKS.

I have used 400mg a day for 4 years now. I started to use it because of a car accident. The medication works well for me, but I am very scared of the withdrawal symptoms. Anytime I don't take the medication I become angry, can't sleep, start to sweat and feel terrible. I would like to stop taking the meds. and manage the pain on my own, but I'm very nervous of going through it. When I take my medication I feel great, have a lot of energy and can perform at work. Please be careful when starting to use this medication, but it does work.Read More Read Less
