This medication works well with minimal side effects. It mutes the pain levels down to a point where you can concentrate on daily activities without feeling "drugged".... There are two very important points to this medication that cannot be ignored without side effects. Overdosage: From all the blogs I've found, overdosage often results in sleeplessness. Headaches and stomach cramps are a...

I only gave one star, because iv never taken this medication. ( yet) Celebrex 200 mg for a year, I can get out of bed and be somewhat normal, but have not walk more then 50 yards without pain. ( L4-L5-S1-Hip problems) nine injectings over the three years all NSADS, PT twice. Can this be taken with Celebrex? Has anyone taken both together?

I have taken a combination of Ultram (Tramadol)2-50mg pills with Neurontin® (gabapentin)1-300mb pill for almost 4 years now as I was diagnosed with Sciatica. I was in tremendous paid, so much that Vicodin 500, 6 times a day was not doing anything after sometime. My doctor along my pain specialist prescribed this combination of drugs and I have to say it is the best thing that has happen to me. Just like other members described. I had also had some depression/anxiety. After taking this drugs not only the oain was gone buy my depression and anxiety as well, I would have said this is the miracle drug, Also since young I always struggled to get off of bed and fully wake up, it was normally take me 1-2 hrs to get myself up and running. I found myself taking my dose the minute I opened my eyes and I would be up and running with so much energy and such a positive feeling as soon as the meds kicked in. I am still taking the same dose but I have found that my memory has really taken a toll and it just does not get me going like it used to. I have tryed uping my dose but I really try to just stay at one dose in the morning and one dose after lunch.Read More Read Less

Tramadol was Given for Severe skeletal muscle pain due to a fall causing impact to bone and severe muscle pull, strain and hyper-extension resulting in excruciating pain when shoulder and arm are moved. Due to the 'war on drugs' causing MD's to be afraid to actually give medicine that actually works and provides pain relief, this overrated, overhyped & ineffective drug was given in lieu of real pain relief because its taunted as the wonder non narcotic pain reliever. When in reality, it has the same efficacy as high dose Ibuprofen. Needless to say, I suffered ALOT more than I should have and for days because of the clinic protocols in place now all across the nation. Give bare minimum pain relief with an appeasement drug like TRamadol and send the patient out the door because the MDS are told NOT to write for anything stronger by the DEA or face conseqences. In other words, no matter how horrible you pain, the DEA thinks you should suffer and youR pain should be underTREATED. I hurt severely for over a week because of these protocols. The DEA and DRS and the makers of the woefully ineffective Tramadol should be ashamed of themselves. I suffered for no reason what so ever. These ridiculous protocols should be reviewed...NO PATIENT should be made to suffer as much as I have because of the ridiculous restrictions placed on Drs by the DEA. Tramadol does not work on this kind of pain....at all!Read More Read Less

First, thanks to everyone who took the time to review this medication. Your reviews helped me to begin taking Tramadol with a positive attitude. I have stiff, achy fingers, wrists and elbows. I've tried everything from motrin to percocet and NOTHING has helped as much as Tramadol. I can pull weeds and iron without wanting to cry! I feel hopeful and happy once again. I just don't understand why it took years for a doctor to decide to prescribe this for me.

I was prescribed this medication for a cramped up muscle in my neck. The first one was ok, but the second one was my last! The dizzines and nausea made me think I was having a heart attack. Luckily the muscle had relaxed by then. I went back to Ibuprophen for the residual pain.

I have spinal stenosis and Ultram has really helped with the pain....I take under 3 tablets a day...1 1/2 in the a.m and 1 in the late p.m. I have had shots in my lower spine with no effect...good thing that Ultram is out there.

Been taking ultram (tramadol) for 11 years now. Doctors have tried me on everything else from percocet, to lortab 10 and these do nothing for me. I worry about addiction but with this medicine I don't. I take 1 tylenol with 100 mg twice a day sometimes a little more if I have severe pain. I have a damages sciactic nerve in low left back down left leg, two heriated disc at thoracic area, and two bulges in neck but as long as I stay on a regimen of ultram I can function.

This medication is only good for short-term pain relief. It is not a medication that works for long-term pain relief. I have intense back pain due to 3 herniated disks in my upper and lower back which have pinched the nerves into my legs and arms. I have had a few different medications but this one is the only one that takes a bit of the edge off of the pain. The major downfall is that the tolerance has built up so fast that I was on full dosing at 2 months. Now 6 months in it might as well stay in the bottle because it just gives me palpatations and constapation. Does not last!Read More Read Less

suffered a broken rib, Alleve didnt help much..went to ortho and got script for Ultram instead of Percocet(which I had taken years ago for knee....initially drowsy the first day , but I adjusted, a bit of itching and labored breathing, doc prescribed a barbituate combo, which did NOTHING for pain, so I went back to taking Ultram...takes a definite edge off so I can breathe w/o pain and have some freedom of movement w/o pain,,,,dont feel 'drugged' like I did when on percocet I have about 14 days worth, will wean off ina few days...might try the barbituate combo later if pain persists Its been a week since I broke the rib --I can now twist a bit to turn off alarm clock, and some mild activities.. I would reccommend this drug for moderate to severe pain--my pain level was a 6-7 last week..now w/ Ultram, more like a 3//4Read More Read Less
