This medication works well with minimal side effects. It mutes the pain levels down to a point where you can concentrate on daily activities without feeling "drugged".... There are two very important points to this medication that cannot be ignored without side effects. Overdosage: From all the blogs I've found, overdosage often results in sleeplessness. Headaches and stomach cramps are a...

I only gave one star, because iv never taken this medication. ( yet) Celebrex 200 mg for a year, I can get out of bed and be somewhat normal, but have not walk more then 50 yards without pain. ( L4-L5-S1-Hip problems) nine injectings over the three years all NSADS, PT twice. Can this be taken with Celebrex? Has anyone taken both together?

I've tried Ultram for both head pain and back & neck pain. I usually don't get much relief with the prescribed amount. A couple of times I've taken a little more & that seems to help more. Probably not a good idea though. I've tried several times the usual dosage & time inbetween but no help and my Dr. doesn't want to prescribe narcotics to me cuz of my being an alcoholic in recovery (18 yrs.). I'm desperate for relief.

I was in a car accident and had 7 surgeries to rebuild my leg, thus developing severe arthritis. I am a nurse and can't take narcotics, and can't work when pain gets severe. With Ultram, I find that I can function without getting groggy and dopey like vicodin made me. I do find that I talk quite a bit more with Ultram in my system and my nose gets cold?!? I have cut myself back from 400mg a day to 300mg a day and I do take Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen throughout the day too. I wish that there was something more effective for my pain though. I can't take ER pills because of weight loss surgery (gastic bypass patients don't absorb extended release pills), so I do rely on dosing throughout the day. Being a nurse, sometimes I get really busy and don't get the dose in right as the pain starts, then I am playing catch up, but for the most part, I have been very successful and happy with Ultram.Read More Read Less

I found these reviews helpful ... so, here's mine. Took 300ml a day for about 3 weeks. Nightmares, strange foggy feelings, buzzing body sensations, drowsiness at times and little or no pain relief for three bulging discs in lower back. I like this option because I am a recovering addict ... but, now I need to trust myself with a narcotic and will have my wife administer the dose to me for her peice of mind ... and, mine.

This medication caused me to have sleeping problems. I would have nightmares for about 5 mins, then wake up afraid and fall back into the same sort of dreams after about 2 minutes. It was completely horrible. My husband had to take it and he had disturbing nightmares. I talked with other who had the same problems with it. I wouldn't wish this drug on anyone.

I have been taking tramadol for about 6 months for lower back pain from a degenerate disc. It helps for everyday aches and I don't feel like I'm in a fog. I can function. My doctor says tramadol is very good for bone pain so maybe that is why this works best for back pain sufferers like myself. I have stronger medication for severe pain but I don't have to take that now unless I completely lock up. Thank goodness for this. I'd also suggest an inversion table for those suffering from chronic lower back pain. A lot of time this helps better than any pain meds and it's cheaper(and more convenient) than a chiropractor over the long term.Read More Read Less

I have been taking ultram for three years now and it has done wonders for my fibro pain. Now instead of taking Ultram 50mg 4x day. I take Ultram ER 100mg 1 time a day. It is great and keeps my pain under control around the clock.

This medication made me severly withdraw and it is not worth the side effects afterall. You accquire a sense of well being and even euphoria while taking it however the after effects are not worth the pain removal at the cost of detoxing.

I used Ultram for pain in my large intestine. Worked okay at best. The side effects make it NOT worth it in my opinion though. The constipation, and trouble urinating were terrible. And even though I only had 1 refill, I went through TERRIBLE withdrawal and missed a few days of work. So Side Effects > Use. I advise against Ultram at all costs.

I've only been taking it for a few days for back pain, but it seems to be working. The only drawback is the odd looks I'm receiving for being in such an unusually good mood. Honestly though, that's not so bad.

Very effective for back, foot and hand pain. I have psoriatic arthritis and when my Remicade infusions start wearing off after about 5 weeks, Ultram really helps reduce pain.

This medicine has been taking some of the edge of of the pain; as long as i take it 50mg 4 times a day at exactly 6 hours apart. If i don't take it 6 hours after the last dose i'm in so much knee pain that I CAN NOT do anything except cry. Very annoying

Ultram worked for me for a short time for my lower back pain. bulging disc in 3&4 and herniated 5. Over time the effect was not sufficient and I now take 3-5/500 Vicodin per day. The Vicodin as with the Ultram is now losing its effect and I am having a discogram next week to determine if surgery is the next step,
