This medication works well with minimal side effects. It mutes the pain levels down to a point where you can concentrate on daily activities without feeling "drugged".... There are two very important points to this medication that cannot be ignored without side effects. Overdosage: From all the blogs I've found, overdosage often results in sleeplessness. Headaches and stomach cramps are a...

I only gave one star, because iv never taken this medication. ( yet) Celebrex 200 mg for a year, I can get out of bed and be somewhat normal, but have not walk more then 50 yards without pain. ( L4-L5-S1-Hip problems) nine injectings over the three years all NSADS, PT twice. Can this be taken with Celebrex? Has anyone taken both together?

When I first starting taking this medican, it made me climb the walls.. I got very little sleep.. Not only did it make my eyes shak when I was trying to sleep, but gave me really bad dreams....The pain I was in, was so bad i tried to take my own life 3 times. I was in and out of the Dr.'s office.. I started taking 25 a day just to ease the pain.. After the back operation I was down to 8 a day.. From therer i had to get use to them.. Still had trouble with my eyes..

I just started taking this medicine and it has worked wonderful. I am using it for chronic migraines.I am glad my doctor finally found something other that heavy narcotics that will relieve my migraines enough so that I can function.

After 3 weeks of Vicodin 6x/day following a rock-climbing fall, I was switched to tramadol and cyclobenzaprine(1st 2 wks). Initially the transition was disorienting and with some pain ressurgence, but after slowly increasing the tramadol dosage to 250mg/day it sufficiently managed the pain. Unfortunately the side effect of insomnia slowly became quite bothersome. After a month on tramadol an additional medication was given to combat the insomnia, Ambien. Since attempts to reduce the tramadol dosage resulted in resurfacing pain after a week of ambien was switched from tramadol back to Vicodin. I was completely taken by surprise when I experienced serious withdrawal from the tramadol. The physical dependence that occured on tramadol was quite surprising, as no dependence to vicodin was ever noticed.Read More Read Less

Have been taking tramadol for a year now.I take 2 50mg+1 800mg motrin 3x daily.just takes away enough pain for me to function, but still cant work.Need a hip replacement and have degenerative disc disease with bone spurs in lumbar area.Percocet works, but I need about 30-40mg to start and then have to maintain with 20 mg every 2 hours and am a zombie, where with tramadol I am awake and alert.Have stopped taking it on a few occasions for a week or two with no withdrawal, but also stopped taking 12 percocet a day without withdrawal.I've found that 30-40 beers a day works better for pain, but is waaaay too expensive, not to mention the liver damage,so I stopped that method too.Read More Read Less

I have been taking Ultram for several years and it generally does not work for any types of back or neck pains. It does have withdraw effects such as problems sleeping, blurred or shaky vision, shakiness, irritability, etc. I started used using this to get off narcotics such as oxycontin and loratabs. It can be used to trick the mind like a placebo.

I was on Tramadol for less than 24 hours, I was at work and had a seizure from it, causing me to fall down and break my jaw now my jaw is wired shut, I also know 3 other people who have had seizures from this medication, If you are currently taking PLEASE be careful because it does cause serious seziures that can cause much bigger problems for you than the initial reason for taking.

I was prescribed this medication after a car accident in which i had shattered my femur. The dr first prescribed me percocet 10 mg , went back a month later and was put on ultrams. Ultrams are a joke, they dont take away the pain they just make you so sick and dizzy that its hard to think about it. I would suggest anyone on them to get off them as soon as possible, because they can give you long term problems. I just lay around in pain because i stopped taking them and the dr would not give me anything else.Read More Read Less

Tramadol does have addiction potential (about as much as codeine) like any painkiller. As long as you're aware of this before taking, you should be fine. It does tend to make people jittery or nervous, and jaw-clenching is common. It can also cause itching, which can be relieved by taking an antihistamine - but this combination almost certainly will cause drowsiness so be VERY careful if driving, operating machinery, etc. This combo can be helpful if there's difficulty sleeping. Tramadol stays in the system for a long time, so follow dosing instructions carefully.Read More Read Less

I was given this drug for chronic kidney stones and kidney/ureter pain and took for approx. 3 months. It took some getting used to but was effective for pain control in my case. It was unfortunate however that it ended up being a horror drug for me due to its extreme addictiveness. I was searching for an alternative from Lortab when prescribed this. Once I noticed that my hands would shake, upset stomach and the general heeby-jeebies before each dose was due I worked on weaning myself off. I dealt with 4-5 weeks of upset stomach, violent tremors, tightness in my chest and really feeling like I had an intense flu. My body ached. It was a nightmare. I literally ended up shaving my pills down for the weaning process. After discussing with 3 of my Dr.'s they assured me that this was not an "addictive medication." Unbelievable. I could see a law suit in the future for the makers of this drug. I am fortunate however that I did not suffer a seizure like the other posters I have read. I urge any users to be very, very careful using this drug. Read More Read Less

I had a severe ear infection (inner and outer) and my canal was so swollen that my PA couldn't tell if my drum was perforated or not, so she prescribed an oral pain reliever instead of drops. My first dose was 100mg, taken at 8PM. I felt "loopy" and somewhat giddy, but my pain was gone. That night I slept through the night until 4AM when my pain woke me up. I took 50mg this time because I knew I had to try to go to work in a few hours, and when the time came to leave, I wasn't totally free of pain, but was certainly in control of myself. Later that morning I took 50 mg while at work and proceeded to feel dizzy all day long, but was mostly pain free. I am currently taking approx. 50 mg every 6-8 hours, whenever I notice the pain. I don't feel "loopy" and only slightly dizzy.Read More Read Less

My PCM prescribed Ultram about 6 months ago becasuse of neck and back pain. I had to cut the does in half because I could not stand without passing out. Hydrocodoion and other pain medicines never made me feel this way. Untram only takes the "kick" out of the pain. Enough where I can do what I need to do through out the day. But when it starts to wear off it feels like I have a really bad high. I like Vicodin A LOT better.
