This medication works well with minimal side effects. It mutes the pain levels down to a point where you can concentrate on daily activities without feeling "drugged".... There are two very important points to this medication that cannot be ignored without side effects. Overdosage: From all the blogs I've found, overdosage often results in sleeplessness. Headaches and stomach cramps are a...

I only gave one star, because iv never taken this medication. ( yet) Celebrex 200 mg for a year, I can get out of bed and be somewhat normal, but have not walk more then 50 yards without pain. ( L4-L5-S1-Hip problems) nine injectings over the three years all NSADS, PT twice. Can this be taken with Celebrex? Has anyone taken both together?

I'm a disabled RN and suffered for 10 years with hip and muscle pain as well as debilitating fatigue. I refused narcotics because chronic nature of illness and side effects as well as worry about addiction. Then my MD suggested Ultram. I have now used it for 9 years...and it has helped me so much. It works well at low dosage as long as I don't wait till pain out of control. I take 90% less of it now than I did. When I am having a well time...I don't even think about taking it. But when I feel bad and am hurting so much that I just don't want to even get out of bed...I can take 1 pill and generally don't feel much...I just find myself up and doing things for myself without making myself do it. I have had several surgeries and chose to just use Ultram and Tylenol (or)Advil. While it doesn't get rid of severe pain of surgery or gallstones...it does help without the horrible side-effects of most narcotics.Read More Read Less

Woderful. I have used this medicine for ten years now taking the max dosage of 400mg daily. It manages my pain well and gives me the energy that I need for a full day. But, be very aware that this can be a very addictive and habit forming drug that can have very dangerous side effects if stopped abruptly, such as seizures , restlessness headache, chronic fatigue, and extreme stomach discomfort. If taken properly, though, this is the most efffective pain reliever for my injuries that I have ever taken.Read More Read Less

This "drug," to use the term loosely, is yet another gawd-awful cocktail of chemicals that the medical community pawns off on unsuspecting patients as an analgesic. There are so many bad "side effects" that they should be called "primary effects" instead. Sadly, the world is barely one notch above Civil War medicine when it comes to safe, effective, pain killers. This is most likely due to a combination of insufficient basic research, poorly educated researchers who are not taught a comprehensive understanding of human physiology, and a general acceptance of the fallacious idea, "Well, that's all there is. Take it or leave it." If we took that philosophy as gospel back during WWII, we would all be goose-steeping and saluting the Nazi flag right now. C'mon, all you research scientists... you can do better than this!!!Read More Read Less

the satisfaction has switched with the different company makers ... began use of Ultram in 2005 and still trying...TRYING is the main word in that sentence. HOW CAN I FIND the maker of ULTRAM that has 377 marked in it ???? I've been using ( 1 (30mg)cymbalta for pain management in the am ; Ultram 50mg along with a Tylenol Arthritis 650mg (2 Tylenol in am ) 1 and 1; 3x the rest of the day...since Nov 2005 .... Regarding Ultram only : I have experienced "what seems like "a yearly switch of " makers "- only 1 of the 3 minium company brands I've had to try(minuim -that i can remember...) are not effective in relieving the pain . you should know we have been living in 3 locations in those 5 years. and having to use /refill at different stateside drug stores ,too . NOW i am told after finding :) one again ... that helped- that they have stoped production of the form that had been of benifit to my DDD in lower back and neck . wondering if this med has a shelf life IN ones body :) after 5 yr as well ? :) i have found if I take a 100mg tablet i'll see it again within an hour - my body tolorates 50gm 4x a day but this new ultram thats round doesn't seem to be as effective as the maker before "Major" . Major is not as effective as the pill shaped longer with the numbers 377 on it . that was my bodies favorite. HOW can we find that pill with the number 377 and maker ?????? Read More Read Less

I have had problems off and on with my back for the last 20 years. For the last alomst 5 years I have been haking Norco. I wanted to take something non-narcotic and my Dr. prescribed ultram 50 mg every 6 hours. I feel like I am still taking narcotics. Also, suprised to hear that you can still go thru withdrawls from these.

I am 35 years old and have degenerative disk disease, compressed disks in my L3-5 region, a ruptured disk, and arthritis in my spine. This has also led to my sciatic nerve being pinched. I have had back problems for the past 12 and began taking Ultram about 9 years ago. It has worked wonders for me. This also allows me to take this medication while at work too. It makes me itch when I take 100 mg compared to the 50 mg and I do get headaches off and on, other than that, this medication has helped me tremendously.Read More Read Less

I have intractable pain due to multiple severe traumas and progressive CNS damage due to a "complex autoimmune disorder." I had been on large doses of narcotics and valium, and am now just taking tramadol and baclofen. This drug has given me my life back.
