I have insomnia and can't sleep without a sleeping pill. I'm also an addict so I'm not allowed any strong narcotics. Trazodone has worked very well for me. I've been taking it for over a year now. I started at 100mg and am now up to the max of 300mg/night. I will have to find another pill once this starts to become ineffective. But it puts me to sleep nicely and I don't feel anything linger the ne...
I have terrible insomnia and always searching for something to help me with this. I have tried this several times over the course of a year and did not like the way it made me feel the next day. Also did nothing for my sleep. Thought I would try it again one last time to see if it would be different this time. No. Couldn't sleep and next day I felt like I had a terrible hangover all day. I had no ...

I've taken trazodone for 1 week. After 3 nights of taking it I was able to sleep BUT I also was having nightmares and felt nauseated. Each day it got worse and to the point of vomitting. I also was dizzy, had night and daytime sweats. I have now stopped the medication. I wish you better luck with it.

I have used this medication for 12 years. Treatment is for anxiety and panic disorders and severe insomnia. I used 100 milgrs. per night. It has been one of the best times of my life. Works on all three symptoms. Dose was increased during chemo treatments and redused back to 100 after. Life saver for sure!!!

Having struggled with chronic pain, anxiety, and sleep issues for years, it seems that trazadone is one of the better drugs I've tried. It seems to help me get a more refreshing sleep in addition to making me more outgoing. Unfortunately, it also seems to play havoc with my libido. I first tried trazadone in 2000, and for the most part, liked it, but my docter told me to stop after I described my loss of sexual desire and function. After years of many meds I have come full circle. I take 25mg of trazadone on most nights now. The results are a little inconsistent, but it seems to do more good than harm so I continue.Read More Read Less

I take this drug as a treatment for insomnia and depression. I also take Effexor in the mornings and Trazadone and Ambien at night. The combination of night drugs work like a charm. Trazadone usually helps me sleep but not as much as the Ambien in combination with the Trazadone. Before this medication, I was lucky to get 2 hours of sleep. These medications in combination have been a lifesaver!

It did not help me fall asleep quickly, but then it was very difficult for me to wake up the next morning. Tried taking it earlier, same results...still looking for a good sleep aid that will help me fall asleep quickly and wake in the morning feeling well rested and energetic.

I am 5'8" about 120 and it only worked 1st night really good! I was so happy to feel tired and sleep! Then, 2nd o.k. 3rd...no 4th I doubled and still saw the morning hours. In the drugs defense, I do smoke and it is stated these drugs will decrease effectiveness in those who smoke. I will give it that benefit of the doubt. I will have to go back to it but I now have soma for severe insominia. I just need a horse tranquilizar I think! Sweet dreams everyone!
