I have insomnia and can't sleep without a sleeping pill. I'm also an addict so I'm not allowed any strong narcotics. Trazodone has worked very well for me. I've been taking it for over a year now. I started at 100mg and am now up to the max of 300mg/night. I will have to find another pill once this starts to become ineffective. But it puts me to sleep nicely and I don't feel anything linger the ne...

I have terrible insomnia and always searching for something to help me with this. I have tried this several times over the course of a year and did not like the way it made me feel the next day. Also did nothing for my sleep. Thought I would try it again one last time to see if it would be different this time. No. Couldn't sleep and next day I felt like I had a terrible hangover all day. I had no ...

An absolute disaster. Took this for roughly 4 months. Around the 3rd month I started having terrible issues. My ears were blocked and it worsened my sinusitis. I then started to feel edgy before time to take my pull. That scared me but I thought it was just my nerves/no I was dependant on it. Ear pressure, sinusitis flared, anxiety, not getting much sleep on it. So I decided to stop. We'll first couple of days I was great then day 4 hit. Omg. My body was on fire, aching, severe tinnitus, oh blurred vision was a problem while on it, I'm about a week off and ended up in hospital thinking I had a neurological issue. I then found in research it's trazedone. I had inner vibrations that threw me in a panic, waking up with heart palpitations, nausea, vomiting, dizzy, thought for sure I was having a heart attack. Impending doom, crying spells, scrolling internet non stop for answers. List goes on. Last night I had another panic attack that was horrible. Thought I was dying. It's one terrible pill. I'd suggest finding a therapist that can help you find a natural way to sleep. These medications make you worse. I have terrible tolerance to medications and was told this one was easy. Lies! Run... Doc prescribed 50 mg trazodone for sleep after weaning me off of the amitriptyline I'd been on for a few years. First night it took more than 5 hours to even doze. In the morning I felt really tired. Day 2 - after more than 5 hours from taking the pill, I still was very tired but could not sleep. When I did drift off I had dreams of being held captive and trying to run away. In the morning I was extremely exhausted, had body aches and was very emotional. I'm going back to Amitriptyline.

I have taken it twice 40mg. Dry mouth, dizzy and tired in the morning. I do not like this medication. I was told that my mouth was dry because the weather got warmer.

My Dr. Prescribed trazadone to help me with sleep and I took it once and I've never felt so sick. I took 50mg and couldn't fall asleep so I took another 50mg and I got palpitations and took forever to fall asleep. I also experienced dry mouth. I woke up after about 5 hours of crappy sleep. When I woke up I had a severe migraine, nausea and I threw up. I could barely walk straight, I had weakness and fatigue. Had to call off of work because I couldn't function at all. This is literally the worst medication I have taken. After talking it one time, I will never use this poison ever again. At this point I'm drinking a lot of fluids to flush this crap out of my body. Horrible!!Read More Read Less

One of the few drugs I can take that I have had zero side effects from. Was prescribed 100 but thought it was too much and reduced to 50, which I've been taking for years. Helps to just slow my brain down and help me sleep.

Excruciating pain in my leg for 5+ years! I thought about what med I consistently took and it was Trazadone, so I quit it and the pain stopped!.

Fortunately for me, this drug works VERY well for me. I take it half an hour before sleeping, whilst I'm in bed already. I actually sleep through, after trying numerous sleeping pills. I sleep well and get up without feeling groggy. So in my experience, I will recommend it for sure

The first night, I got 9 and a half hours of sleep. Maybe because I was so exhausted. Then for the past 3 weeks, I woke up every two hours, felt awful during the day and the side effects got worst. Side effects included Dehydration Constipation so bad , I couldn't go for 24 hours, every day Eyes felt weird Sinuses were blocked up Exhausted Nightmares Now I'm tapering off and it's awful. Slowing taking 90%, the 80% and so on every night I would not recommend this to anyone.

I have anxiety with insomnia. I’ve taken trazodone for years and it’s the only way I can sleep. I take 50-100mg as needed. You want to try to get to sleep as quickly as you can when you start to feel the sedation. I’ve noticed it can be less effective if you take it too early or stay up after the initial sedation. It takes some experimenting. It’s very safe, inexpensive and commonly prescribed.

Terrible medicine. It made me so dizzy that I could barely walk. If anything it prevented sleep with its awful side effect.

This drug has been a life changer for me. I would be up 3-4 times per night for the last 2 years, and would be so exhausted during the day. It took several days to start working, but now I wake up refreshed every morning and have slept through the night since taking it. I feel great throughout the day and an added bonus is that I have lost weight in the last month. I don't feel the need to graze all day long. I take 50mg per day, right before bed.

I have not experienced any side effects from this medication. However, it has not been effective in helping me sleep. My insomnia has been s life long problem. I really can't take sleeping pills, because, I am a type one insulin dependent diabetic And, I am Hypoglycemic Unaware. So Trazazone is really the only only medication I can use

I've been taking this medication for about 2 years and have had side effects all over the place. I take this medication for sleep and it works ok I've had to keep upping the dose about every 6 months. Side effects: Blurry vision, "noodle arms" (carrying objects like a book or pan hurt) Horrible night terrors to the point I don't want to go to sleep. Nausea, migraines that can last days at a time, and being very dizzy
